Progress report, Junkyard Dog

so now are you done with your part of the dog and having the body shop finish every thing else up to reassembly? or is your hand going to stay in the picture?

Hey Prop, the "DOG" understands that me galavanting around the Caribbean pays well and he'll benefit from it, the girlfriend?, well she just wishes she benefited from it!:rolling:

Morbidgoat, I will be doing the final assembly of all of the body panels myself at my buddies body shop, I just won't do any of the paint work. I certainly plan on working on him at least 1 day this week.

I don't know man, he sounded pissed on the phone. Said something about a woman sucking up "me" time and sick of getting carted around naked on casters. Something else about breaking your Lionel Richie vinyl collection :edgy:

Matt.......We need our "Dog" fix....:reading:

I know, I know. I have been really busy playing catch-up after 3 weeks out of the country. I got it moved out of the old paint booth where he was stashed while I was away and moved to a spot that I'll be able to work on it. I have one patch I have to do on the firewall where the media blaster opened up a thin spot. Cut a piece off of the original firewall and sandblasted and primed it along with a few other misc. parts. Hope to be able to spend a solid day on it this week. I did pick up a Right Stuff disc brake conversion kit for it today, smokin deal off of Craigslist. The guy had bought the whole kit and only used the master cylinder out of it and the rest was still in its original packaging.
I'll get some fresh pics this week and get them posted, I could use a "DOG" fix myself.:rolling:

hey matt, get some pics up when you can.i want to see how the "dog" is coming along.

looking good, that's what we need to get our "DOG" fix

Welcome back!! Sucks the dog took out L. Ritchie, better start moving before he gets to your Michael Bolton collection! Seriously though I need my dog fix, keep the pics coming!!

Thanks Ben, funny this thread should turn up today, I was gonna dig it out anyway because I finally got back to work on it yesterday!.
There was one spot on the firewall that the media blaster thinned out and blew through, I saw it coming:rolling:, so I cut a piece with matching detail on it from the "DOGS" original firewall and welded it in place of the piece I cut out. No pics of it, just a little patch, I'll include it in with the next set of pics I take after I get back to installing some parts back on. Will actually be mixing up some color soon so I can spray the lower/inner cowl before I install the upper cowl, which will be next week. I think I will start installing the inner fenders later today, then the upper cowl, the radiator core support and the front floorpan and rear footwell pans. After that it's back to the rear clip, for the Quarters and everything that surrounds them, tail light buckets, rear window filler panel, trunk gutters, etc.. Also going to pull the trigger on getting new bearings installed on my axle shafts and getting the rear end assembled and detailed. AND will be placing an order with PST shortly for the front end rebuild kit, looking forward to getting the old guy back on his feet:yes:. Got a quote from Hurst for a Tremec 5 spd, I was thinking about going that route, but it turns out way to rich for my blood right now, maybe in the future. Rebuilding a set of door hinges now and also will be dropping off my steering column with the guy that is polishing my britework, and you all thought I was snoozing, didn't you?.:rolling:
Hey Ben, how are things going with your Sattilite?. The "DOG" won't be getting at my M.B. collection, I locked it up in my gun cabinet.:edgy:

hey matt, sounds like you're starting to put things back together now

Ben, I am sorry to hear that, but at the same time I like what I hear about you "Grabbin the bull by the horns"!, Let me know if there is anything you need. I have heard good things about the Hobart welders, same size as my Miller, you'll have to let me know how it works for you and practice, practice practice!
