Race Cars in Progress

Well here goes...
I purchased a 1978 Magnum to use as a template for measurements and body lines. We then made a sheet metal version on our racing chassis that was 88% scaled down so it would fit and be proportionate. We also had to include a front air dam for downforce and safety. We then cut the body up and prepared the plugs to make the molds for fiberglass. Not gonna bother showing you all of them but heres the nose with the "bumper" and front air dam. We now have six molds complete and will be finishing the others soon. We will have a 14 piece, flange fit, Magnum style body that will fit any 105" perimeter stock car chassis. So that we can race cars that look like cars again! Like those driven by Arrington, Petty and Marty Robbins among others!

Some updates on the 64.Working on the wiring,a few more evenings and should be fired up.Should be driveable by the weekend.Its a tangled mess right now.It will come together once everything is mounted.

Well fired up the 64 today.Fired right up idled fine no issues with the new wiring.One small issue with a water leak.I only had to remove the head and weld up a cracked head.It must of cracked when the idiot let it freeze up!!:angryfire: :banghead::banghead::mad_6::mad_6: Well its welded up.Dye checked and ready to be pressure tested.Whats next!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That does suck moparpoor, Maybe this isint the time but i was looking for something in particular (71 Cuda for my brother in law that has one) and i came across this and you came to mind instantly as i set laughing about this being the first one i found, It isint a long one, and wrong year for Lonnie , but couldn't see passing it up not showing you and the rest here! enjoy.

Well guys it lives!Just fired it up and no leaks!!!After four failed attemps to get rid of weeping.The casting was very pours and difficult to weld.The final time I literally ground out a hunk and opened up the water jacket and welded it back in with a layer of weld bead over the entire repair.Haven't had to do that in a long time.Wasn't very happy with the quality of the casting.Resurfaced the exhaust flange and away we went.Just fired it up and it a ok.Now the neighbors maybe not so ok.Nothing like open headers at 8:30 at night to give you that warm fuzzy fealing :th_krazy::woohoo:

We actually made progress today!!!I got the doors jambs painted this afternoon.Tomorrow will make some serious progress.

That's funny, been there done that, as long as no babies sleeping... The neighbors will get over it usually pretty quick, unless they are real hatters to begin with...

Kicked *** monday and made a ton of progress.The car is loaded on the trailer headed to the paint shop for a little block work and some finishing touches.It looks like saturday I will be spraying color on the old girl.Way to many headaches from the old girl.So hopefully paint saturday,some assembly sunday,vinyl wrap next week,test and tune at milan,and off to saint louis thursday night.

Literally just pulled it off the trailer and took pictures!Almost twelve straight hours and balls to the wall today to get this thing in color.The hand painted lettering and stripes should be done next week.

Very nice! I seen you said Saturday was paint day but know how things can change.. That color just pops man, I do hope you do a video of this, love to see and hear it at the track! Good luck on the finish with whats left!
