Road Trip Gulf Coast to NorCal

Bug screen did its job. Radiator is clean.
Home made bug screen...
I hate bugs in my car's grille, mainly because they're so hard to clean out.
Details on how I may grace my Roadrunner with such a device, and if I knew who tapped the bumper I'd be glad to "eliminate" the problem for you, just say the word...
Lol

Fuel pump replaced. Car runs great. Put a variation of an OEM Dodge Viper pump in that shop is familiar with. Put the Mantin push rods in, top end is quiet now. Valve covers replaced with 70 factory and sealed nicely. Ready to roll.

I see your battery voltage is low Dennis. Is that normal on your car, or it is possibly symptomatic of the heat soak effect around the sensor for voltage on your EFI unit? I have noticed the same with my Sniper...although battery charges fine.

Yes, and correctly spelled. Bent rods seemed to be the weak point of the motor build. Valve guide seal disintegrated too. Double post of tablet after idling for one hour with ac, stereo, and headlights on. Ambient temperature around 60. Aftermarket temp reads 180, tablet reads 198. The 11.4 battery comes up when taken off idle. Battery 6 months old and car starts fine.

Test it all out at Willow Springs! I am so ready to GTFO of here. WAY too many hours in clinics and having to stay close to home. Still have to plan around 3 week schedules for 2020 as far as any long trips go but SF is on my calendar! The daughter is pregnant AGAIN and due last week in July. I'm going to HAN anyway since I was here for the last "big event"!
Wife is doing great anyway, huge relief!

Your Valve covers are on backwards...

Sweet that you are up and going again!

Revving over 6500 bent a rod. Limiter now set at 4850. Been noisy ever since. Got replacement higher quality rods exact dimensions. 90k on the 440. Want to squeeze another season on it. Replaced 2 rods at the time of failure. Others may have been off slightly. Otherwise can’t explain.

Ohhhhh, your talking pushROD:realcrazy:

70 different than previous years, got it, thanks. :)
No end to what I learn here. Moparmarks id’d them as 1970. Installed wrong by-good tech in his late 20’s. Suffers from youth. No leaks so not touching them.

No leaks so not touching them
That is solid advice!
Besides, with your danged fancy, city slicker, "West coast" ways EElectronical fuel injectionisms...you left "factory original" behind loonngg ago! Lol
Merry Christmas buddy!

Dennis with your Amsoil usage you've got more than one season left in that 440! I bet you can run that 440 another 40K miles.
I remember measuring your Battery Voltage and various drops under hood. Not sure why your EFI Tablet reads low? Anyhow, we measured almost 1.3V higher under hood with a DMM.
Merry Christmas to you!
