Cool thread. I'll be watching the progress. I just sold my 1970 Roadrunner, they always were my favorite year.

What color it was and who bought it? Mine came with a 383 4bbl HP and I'm looking to increase horsepower without too drastic outward appearance. Basically stock looking outwardly. Any remarks and comments would be welcomed.

Mine was an FC-7 In-Violet purple car. I had bought it out of the Polestad collection quite a few years back. It only had 67,000 miles on it.

Look on the engines and driveline section there are a few guys with 383 threads going that have a lot of good ideas.

My personal favorite...Bore and stroke it to a 426"...it's the ultimate sleeper short of a 499" made from a 400.

426" sounds good and nothing to drastic. :headbang:

Hard to beat a nicely built 383 and had a great one in a 69 RR but my favorite BB has always been a 440.. I know most love the HEMI and its a engine that is all by itself with the history behind it but the 440 would be my choice , will be if i find the right car..

Looks like it's a soild foundation, I have a feeling she is going to be a fine looking machine when you are done. Can't wait to see it. hope it doesn't take 7 years like mine did though. lol

Thanks Ron if you look in my photo gallery I have some pics of my 1968 440 magnum 4 barrel engine. I have plans to have this BB bored out to 60 over and fitted with new connecting rods and of course larger pistons and rings. But I won't start on that until my matching numbers 383 is finished and in my 70 RR. I am seriously considering having a machine shop here in my area bore out my 383 to 426 and outfitted with all new rotating assembly bearings and all. So what do you think? :headbang:
