Roadbird's 1970 Roadrunner restoration.

Looks like it's a soild foundation, I have a feeling she is going to be a fine looking machine when you are done. Can't wait to see it. hope it doesn't take 7 years like mine did though. lol

It's ok but I'm pushing myself to have this completed by the end of Oct. 2013. I'm on the final stages of buying me my very first home here in the US and the house comes with a 3 car garage with the main house and a double car garage with the detached garage and studio on top. My Roadrunner is going in the detached double garage with the other side as my shop and this is all in my large open back yard. I'm buying this place because I want a place to work on Roxanne. I'll keep everybody here posted as it happens. Thanks everybody for the encouragement, help, knowledge, and replies and comments to these posts. John (Roadbird).:happy7:

Congrats on your home bud! really sounds like a great place and all the room for "Roxanne" is going to be fantastic, you can never have to much room!

good to hear your plans to get a home. Sounds like roxanne is going to have plenty of room to play. Maybe sometime in the future, she can get a playmate and they can have sleepovers.

Awwww you lucky dog John! Congrat's if it rolls through! Sounds great.
They accepted my offer of $245,000. But I'm in the process of negotiating funds and I ain't telling no one until after the fact and all is said and done. Yeah I know, Roxanne is cloaked in secrecy but that is just how she is? She fancies the intrigueing style I guess.

Yup I got a 69 Roadrunner parts car in Michigan that I'm gonna have brought over when the driver is ready to come up this way. Just waiting for him and I plan on contacting him after I move and settled in. I might restore this for street use or fun car. No matching #'s car. Just for fun kind of car. And plan to give him a name too when I see him here when he arrives. No name for now until he arrives.

b/c I bought a GTX that was going to be a parts car, rather, convert the Satellite to GTX, but, AMD kept making new and more metal for these cars!

Yup and in fact they already have all the metal body parts for both my years. The only issues I'm having at the moment is my 70RR is lacking the yokes from the tranny, the drive shaft and the whole center section of the rearend. My 69 meanwhile is still in Michigan and that one has a 323 gear ratio open 8 3/4 rearend. My plan is to use that center section in the 70 rear differential if it's compatible. I don't know what type of rear housing I have in the 70. But I'm hoping it the same as what I got on the 69. Both are 8 3/4" differentials. In the future if I decide to restore the 69RR? I'm putting in a Dana 60 and reinforcing the front and rear suspension system to handle maybe a crate 426 Hemi.

That would be a real good looking garage with both the 69 and 70 side by side.. Lots of work, time and money, but just sayin, I imagine you want Roxanne to be first...

Yes I do because Roxanne is more complete and closer to being completed and I can't wait for her to be road worthy at the least. I really just want to drive a Roadrunner. Getting impatient here.

Anybody reading this know where on the rear axle housing I can find the ID numbers / ratios? I'm lacking the whole center section but I do have the housing and the axles still in place. Trying to figure out what type of 8.75 rearend I got?

Photos of Roxanne's rearend LMFAO.

Check out Roxanne's rearend. LOL

I would say if that is roxanne's original rearend that she would have 3:23's. There should have been a little tag where the center section was bolted to the housing.can you get ahold of the person you got the car from and ask them?

Roxanne's future place.

Here are some pics of soon to be my new home.

That Mustang has got to go.

Notice that Mustang still in there? The previous owner of this house left it in there. If it's still there by the time I occupy the place and he does not claim it? Oh well, I guess it's mine and most likely I'm going to sell it for my 2 Roadrunner money.

That's a nice looking place. Is there an attic above the garage? You might need to check your DMV rules about what you need to do about the mustang. You might have to send a registered letter to the previous owner and if he does not respond in so many days, then i think you could get an abandoned title and sell it to a salvage yard but not to a private person.Don't know how things work on the west coast.

Not an attic a studio with a full bathroom and a kitchen. Yeah I got to check the rules on that mustang. I'm meeting my realtor tomorrow at 10am. I will find out the year and engine on that mustang. Thinking about if the original owner would like to include it with the purchase of the house. The owner of the place has been trying to sell this place for the past 2 plus years and kept dropping his price from $379,000 to $269,000 earlier this year and dropped to $249,950 less than a month ago. That is when I offered $245,000. BTW the owner left over a year ago to start a business in the Phillipines he just uped and left?
