Rubber Mounts Vs Solid

I run solid engine mounts with a .590MP solid lifter cam and the car really doesn't shake that much, and is pretty smooth with the four speed. Had them on the car the past year without a single issue, other than raising my block another 2" above factory. Just make sure you purchase the appropriate strength bolts for your application and you should be fine. Rubber mounts for the trans are a must when running solid engine mounts. Must have some 'give' in the drive train or you are just asking for something to snap'..

I will tell you the difference. I had a rubber mount til I saw your avatar and now I have a solid mount!

I run rubber on both sides with a chain on the drivers side to keep al in check. I have 7 years and alot of races and no problem. It does look good as well.

Solid mounts on my race cars, but rubber mounts with a torque limiter on my street cars. Just my preference.

The rubber mount with a chain is fine if thats what you like. I ran that for years but decided to add the drivers side only solid mount. The pass side is the stock rubber one. It made a tiny bit of vibration but way less then I thought it would and has been working fine in my 63 for over 3 years. Thats racing it a few times a year and driving it alot. You can see the solid mount in the pic with the chain. Ron
