Good catch Meep, I think the car was in a small wreck or jumped at some point in its life. The hood and passenger fender were replaced and the passenger side frame rail was about a half inch or so to far up and had to be straightened.
I have a 69RR it was the brown color. I went yellow because I was thinking the brown just dint look good but after seeing your ride it looks great. As far as the strips I went flat black and they are a pain in the *** to care for Iam repainting car this winter due to 20 years old and 20 years of kids going to due strips glossy this time around. Looks great steve
Ok got the car back from the paint guy. There are some issues that he'll have to fix but I'm happy with the overall work. One question though, the doors don't sit flush with the rear quarter at the top. They are a little below...is this normal because it seems if I were to adjust the doors so they do sit flush the front of the door will hit the fender.
did they fit good prior to going to paint shop , do you have your gaskets in place along with your rubber pads ,try adjusting door to 1/4 then readjusting with fender
Nope I don't have any of the rubber pads or the gasket in place yet. Just the door latch. I don't remember how they sat exactly prior to when I took them off but they did sag like they are now but I have rebuilt the hinges. So I'm guessing with your answer the doors should be sitting flush on the top. I know gaps weren't exact on factory cars but I'd like to get mine a little closer. I already have to deal with the horrible gap between the driver's side fender extension brake light housing and the quarter panel. Apparently the old body guy and the new body guy never checked the fitment.
I haven't posted an update in a while so here goes. So far I've got all the fuel lines (the line bows down a little in the in middle where in runs down the car, anybody got pics I think I'm missing a clip or something), tank, brake lines, firewall stuff, rear bumper and door inerds installed. I have an issue with my quarter extensions because the dumb body guy never checked the alignment of them when he replaced the quarters so the drivers side extension has a gap in it.
Also got the headliner installed last weekend. Next up I'll be installing the dash.
Looking good Eagle. As far as your fuel line, there was a factory clip in that middle area that is basically secured in an area pined by the floor pan and inner rocker. Those like to rot off and disappear. Drill a 3/16 hole and pop in a factory type clip or a rubber insulated line clamp. There's an open area to the inner rocker that goes a little higher up in between your two seat supports. A Right angle drill will also help getting a bit higher up. Good luck.
