Got the dash assembly installed and everything hooked up, I'm missing one clip for the the heater cables does anybody have one? Also got all the electrical hooked up engine side but not sure how it all routes, mine was a rats nest when I got it. Anybody have pics of the engine electrical for a St Louis built '69 B-body.
Question, how does the starter portion of the battery cable route and also how does the reverse harness route. Can't figure out if it goes around the brake booster or not.
Got some more work done finally. Carpet is in but I need to rotate it counter clockwise a little bit because the heel pad isn't perpendicular with the accelerator pedal base. Also still having a hell of a time lining up the quarter windows, they are still too far inboard and are hitting the metal c-channel the weatherstrip goes in. Got the Park brake all routed through the subframe connectors and all lines connected. Hoping next weekend will be dropping in the motor.
On the last picture you can see my door sits out too far on the bottom side but only to the quarter panel, is there an adjustment to bring in the bottom of the door even with the quarter?
Wow , yur really making progress there. As far as the door goes. Try moving the striker plate on the door jamb inboard a little bit. Do it a little at a time though. It should get to the point that the door will not close and latch if its in too far. It more or less a take and give thing.
I'll try messing with the latch again. I've already messed with the latch a bunch to get it to a point where the door will actually catch all the way and latch. To answer 69's question it is only the lower part of the rear of the door that sticks out. Against the quarters they are somewhat flush.
Engine and transmission installed. My first one ever installing took about 1.5 hours with a couple friends. Didn't scratch or ding anything. The only hang up was getting the engine mount bolt holes lined up on each side but we had it figured out pretty quick.
We installed the motor from the top as one unit. Didn't really have to jack up the car all that much, it was actually way easier than I though it was gonna be.
Thanks guys. Got some more work done in the engine bay such as hoses, carb, and such. Once I get the motor started I'll be taking her back over to the paint/body guy so he can fix some issues with the paint and the alignment of panels. I was going to mess with the panels but I figure it's his fault for not making them right before paint so now he can fix it.
Oh by the way I was watching the Big Bang Theory last week and figured out a name for the car. It's gonna be "Penny" she's one of the characters on that show and I think the name fits the color.
