She sure is. I hoping by the end of this month but I still have a few things to purchase like the radiator and kickdown linkage. Plus I have some electrical work to do like changing the wiring because I have an internal regulated alternator and the FBO ignition system on. We will see but I want to get it going for sure before I deploy the end of March.
Almost time to start her up thinking sometime this week, if I can get her towed to the exhaust shop. Everything is hooked up in the engine bay except for the alternator, still haven't ran the new wires yet. Also still need to hook up the vacuum lines for the brakes, pcv, and vacuum advance.
I'll probably just throw the front bench in until I can decide whether or not I'm happy with the way my window alignment is. I have to push the quarter windows out at the top to roll them up all the way and that may be the way they are going to have to be. I can't get any more alignment out of it.
The last pic I'm just showing how I bypassed the ballast resistor. I just added a jumper wire to eacher spade connector so I didn't have to cut the harness at all. I'll be doing the same sort of thing with the alternator hook up. The original blue alt wire will be my new IGN and the original green wire will be my "sense" wire. Then I'll run the original green wire from the VR plug to the batt post on the starter relay.
Wow...You sure are getting close. Engine bay looks outstanding! Daughter looks right at home behind the wheel...I have a hunch we'll be watching another mopar being resto'ed for her set of wheels somewhere in the future. Good luck on your start up and first cruise.
Jason, I would have to imagine there weren't that many T5 Roadrunners in Utah. That would be crazy if it were the same one. Her first show will probably be the Cache County Cruise-In, you can see it there.
I agree with you snakeyes and I'll have no problems with it as long as I'm in the seat beside her. I just hope she grows up thinking it cool to drive not just some old car her Daddy has.
Nothing at all, the paint shop went strictly by the PPG paint chip. I used the PPG Omni line because at the time the girl helping me said that was all they had to mix with. Later I found out from the owner that he could have mixed the same stuff with Dupont. I kind of wish I would have known that because the Omni although cheaper is really thin and my paint guy had to put a lot of it down. He still has to redo a few areas that are pretty thin, namely the front of the passenger fender.
Paint still looks good. And your daughter looks like she's ready to drive it NOW!!!!!!!!!! Hope they didn't charge you extra for having to use more paint.
Started on the TTI H-pipe exhaust install. Had to reweld one of the nuts that the bolt for the tailpipe hanger screws into. I'll take a pic of the system once all the way installed. But here's one in the mean time.
Great project...I remember back in the day, there was a Gold 69 RR running around the town where I grew up. I thought, at the time, man that is one sharp looking RR. Yours just reminded me of how great they look.
