what manufacter floor pan and sheetmetal have u been using?

I don't know sarge, I still think you got me beat, if nothing else in purchased sheet metal. Thanks all for the kind words, haven't had a whole lot of time to work on the car lately or be on the computer. I've been in St. Louis, Bellvue OH, and I'm going to Pittsburg tomorrow. Next check should bring the sheet metal fairy by my place though.
Steve, I have been using almost all AMD steel, aside from my main floor pan that I got from Sherman here in MI. It's a good piece of metal at a lot lower cost but you can tell some differences from an AMD piece. I did by a outer wheelhouse that was not AMD, BIG MISTAKE. After fighting with it:angryfire: I finally bought one from AMD and it went right in and lined up great.

fantastic job. some of you guys have shear talent!
makes me miss my '68 Charger

naw, it was sold off after I pulled the 440 and 4 speed to put into Freebird.

Got all my steel to finish the back end of the car, but does anyone have some pictures of where the trunk drop offs meet up with the rear crossmember?
Thanks!

If you are wondering if the drop offs stop short of the rear cross member, they do. Pic from my car below for reference. Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks! I studied that pic for a while on your post. It's hard to tell but, does the drop off tuck behind(towards the front of the car) the crossmember or in front(towards the tail).

I don’t have a better pic. From front of the car to the rear it goes cross member, trunk drop off, and then quarter corner. There is a step in the rear portion of the quarter corner. The end of the drop off goes into and gets welded to the outer part of the step and the inner part of the step gets welded to the cross member. Hope that helps!

when i did my drop offs(trunk extensions is the proper name)i put all the welds along the seam and let the front and rear hang til the quarter was in place.that way there you can play with the height when you get to weld the extension to the lower quarter.i hope this helps ya

Hello,
That's my original piece. I had it recromed and painted at a local plateing shop. I was just going to have it chromed and paint it myself but the price was right and saved me some time.

Cheers

Well it's finally a car again, quarters and filler panel are all welded in. Amazing how solid the car becomes when all the pieces are there. Gotta long way to go but have also come a long way. I am also working on some frame connectors. Using 2" square tubing and some injenuity. Was going to originally us the US car tool connectors, but I'm trying to save some cash.
