School me on Oil fellas

Diesels don't run cats? BMW diesels do. Ford diesels do. Dodge Cummins diesels do. Even the trackmobiles that we used at work to move freight cars around had cats.

You're right, I should have clarified better. For a long time, gas vehicles ran them and diesels weren't required to. Yes, now diesels do, but they are different than gasoline cats, they operate using different principals. My understanding is that the zinc, phosphorus and molybdenum lubricants in diesel motor oil are safe for diesel cats but not for gasoline cats.

Some newer Diesels use a Particulate burner/not a Catalytic Converter so to speak {my POS 2002 F350 4x4 Dually 7.3ltr Power-stroke has one "originally", near the rear}, now also the Blue DEF diesel exhaust fluid, in newer rigs, to help with the alleged carcinogenic particulate diesel suet/sulfur too possibly... anyway, back on subject
