Sluggish 727

[Forgotten 77 Monaco]

I bought a 77 Monaco 2 years ago with the 360 with a 727 trans. Only 53,000 miles so has been stored a lot . it seems when not used for a while the tranny is very sluggish to engage. After warm up not so bad. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions. If maybe just a new filter and fluid change would be good of if likely something more serious.

just my 2 cents,,it could be from sitting a while and if it is warmed up it shifts good, thats a good sign,check fluid levels and warm her up.because mopars are cold blooded.i hope this helps.

Start it up and let it warm up in neutral. I had a similar issue after storage and all is good.

Torque converter leak-down.
Not to worry, some do this, some don't.
Probably won't get worse.
If it bothers you, put it in Neutral for 5 seconds before engaging into gear.
Torque converter does not normally fill in Park, which is why dipstick says to check while hot, idling in neutral.

If you can find it, type F will give slightly firmer shifts and perhaps longer life, if you don't drive like a cowboy.
