So.....My DOG tested positive for THC. Huh ???

Bad news but I felt that the responding members deserved to know.
Domino got worse about 2 weeks ago and reversed her condition. For several weeks she was active and responsive even though her balance was off kilter a bit. This past week, she descended to where she was in late February. She couldn't walk without falling, she slept more and more and looked really disoriented. She had lost muscle mass from the Prednisone and was looking frail. Out of love and respect for her, we laid her to rest this afternoon. This hurts like hell. She was the best dog that I have had. She made me laugh and smile more than any other. I am grateful that we got about 6-7 more weeks with her than we expected.
Thanks to the many that responded with support and encouragement. I appreciate the sentiments.

So sorry to hear that news . You did your best for her and took care of her in time of need .
Takes care of yourselves now I'm really sad for you .

Pete

Sorry for your loss Kern, I know the feeling.

It hurts, but you did the right thing. Domino isn't suffering anymore. Sorry you had to do it though

Sorry to hear. They are truly part of the Family... Take care I know what you feel like..

You guys gave him all your love, can’t ask for anymore! Sorry KD.

I'm sorry Kern. I know that pain too..it hurts to have to let them go

We feel your pain Kern, we did the same for our collie last week.

I found it helpful to jot down special words, phrases, and events that are tied to that very dear pet that was lost. Alone and undisturbed, you will be amazed at how many things you will write down. Have your wife do the same thing. Discuss what each of you wrote down...that will likely spur more memories to be written down. This will help each of you relieve some of the pain, as well as document the fond memories of your dear, departed pet.

Also the same goes for you, and your family. You were there when you were needed, and did the right thing, no matter how painful. I've been through this several times before, so I understand how it feels.

My condolences, Kern Dog. We had to make that decision a couple years ago, too. Our pets are family, with that comes joy and sorrow. The two of you were blessed to have each other.

Sorry to hear about your pooch, it's never easy loosing one of our furry friend's.

Sorry to hear this new Greg. This is not what you wanted to come home to after a fun weekend. My heart is heavy for you and Mary.

So sorry you had to put your dog down Greg, but now she's not hurting. :(

Rest In Peace Domino!

I hadn't followed this topic since I posted long ago, and thought that it just went on as funny talk about stoned/wasted dogs. Dude, that sucks, so sorry to read that!! You did do the right thing, I know the hurt. Best wishes
