So.....My DOG tested positive for THC. Huh ???

I don't envy your position & predicament Kern Dog

I have spent thousands on dogs at vets
I have a sister that's a vet in Oregon
I usually run everything thru her 1st, make sure I'm not getting took
or getting really bad medical advice from a vet
"that doesn't know their ****"
I know that sounds bad too, but I think I was a victim of that too...

IMO dr.'s & vet's are just biological mechanics for a lack of a better term,
they diagnose **** wrong all the time, just like auto mechanics do
but the vet's are supposed to have a better education...

If it persists maybe try UC Davis they have a great vet facility,
when my sister was there they did a ton of stuff pro-bono, with the classes
not sure who you need to talk to anymore, it might be worth a try...

If you have to pay, might as well have the best for your money
& your dogs life...

The Spinal Tap showed that it was not a parasite. All these tests are doing is ruling everything else out, not finding out what it IS or how to treat it. We are bringing her home tomorrow regardless. They have been giving her some steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs in the chance that any spots could be shrunk down some. Maybe she could regain some ability. Doc says it may be a type of cancer that he has not seen before. Very sad and frustrating. How do I help her when we don't know what it is??
Thanks for reading.

Very sorry to hear about this Kern! I just recently rescued a pit bull a few months back and he changed my life. Hopefully they get some answers for you soon brother!

We brought her home tonight.
Same food as she has had since we got her 2 years ago.
One "fungal" test result is outstanding...aside from that, Doc says the only remaining possibility is some yet unknown form of brain cancer. There are several small spots on the brain that may be swollen tissue, may be odd tumors...They gave her Prednisone in case it is swelling. Time will tell.

Geez, we hope it all works out positively Kern. Prayers from all of the Leaping Donkey Farm animals and us too.

What the heck, I'll post another update.
Domino has improved since we brought her home. She has been on Prednisone and walks, barks, jumps and runs...pretty good compared to what she was before we took her in. She has a balance issue though, she leans to the right, runs and walks as if she just got off a "Tilt-A-Whirl"....Its sort of like her horizon is shifted several degrees to the side. She has a great spirit and determination and is as perky as she used to be. Who knows how long she will live with those spots on her brain. WE will just continue to love and take care of her for the time we have with her.

That's good news even if she isn't 100%. Sounds like she's feeling better and that's what we all want to see.

I know taking Prednisone makes me feel a whole lot better dealing with this RA. You just can't be on it too long.

I have been prescribed it for back strain and for poison oak infections!

Damn kern dog hope your dog gets better it sucks to not know what’s wrong with them I would lose my mind if my dog got sick

Bad news but I felt that the responding members deserved to know.
Domino got worse about 2 weeks ago and reversed her condition. For several weeks she was active and responsive even though her balance was off kilter a bit. This past week, she descended to where she was in late February. She couldn't walk without falling, she slept more and more and looked really disoriented. She had lost muscle mass from the Prednisone and was looking frail. Out of love and respect for her, we laid her to rest this afternoon. This hurts like hell. She was the best dog that I have had. She made me laugh and smile more than any other. I am grateful that we got about 6-7 more weeks with her than we expected.
Thanks to the many that responded with support and encouragement. I appreciate the sentiments.

Condolences Kern Dog. I know that was tough to do. RIP Domino.

So sorry for your loss, Kern. Hang in there. She's resting painlessly and peacefully now.

My condolences KD. It's always a tough decision, but it's always the right decision.
