Has anyone ran the return line on a naturally aspirated car and has any feed back that would be great .
Also fuel line size, what have u ran from regular to carbs and from tank to regulator,I have a 572 hemi pushing 800 hp. What do u think would be sufficient?

IMO 3/8's line 1/4 return is a bare minimum. I would go up a size in fuel line and use the existing line for a return.

when I ran my 850hp BB, I ran 1/2" fuel feed and 1/2" return, the reason for the same size is to use the regulator to adjust pressure. If your return line is too small you will not get the adjustment on the regulator. another words you will not be able to lower the pressure enough because the retrun line is too restrictive.

3/8" feed n return for 600, 1/2" feed n return for 800 if you are going to be sustaining 800. I run a 600 hp blow through turbo setup on my jet boat. Fuel filter, fuel pump to carburetor with pressure regulator after carburetor, then return to tank. I sustain hi fuel demand on a jet boat and 3/8 is plenty. The regulator after the carb helps keep pressures steady.

I’m about ready to install a Sniper on my D100. 318/727, headers, pretty much stock. Everyone I’ve talked with says 3/8 line inlet and outlet. Have a tanks Inc 16 gallon tank. This is my test mule in thatIve decided to delve into the FI world.

It’s a FHO hemi 572 Edelbrock 600 carbs I’m bending all Lines myself tank is by tanks inc. with the fuel pump inside tank and an Edelbrock regulator. I just want this to be done one time only and correct

Yes I have. I am using a Holley Sniper in tank pump ((Walbro 255 lpm) fed with 3/8" line to a return regulator set at 6.5psi into a 800cfm Edelbrock AVS2 (dual feed 3/8" lines from regulator).

My first return line was 1/4" because that is what I had. Way too small and overpowered the regulator (Aeromotive, I believe) resulting in high pressure and carb flooding. I called Holley and they said 3/8" in and 3/8" out. Nothing smaller. Did it and the pressure has been rock steady.

May be different results with a external pusher pump like the Holley Black, etc.

FI is "NA" naturally aspirated. Carbureted n FI both. Turbo and supercharger are not NA.

Don't know if I'm goofing up. I'm running a 3/8 fuel line, and 1/4 return line. It's a 383, but it's not a nitro burning monster.

Supply and return need to be the same size, a 383 that's pretty much stock can work w 5/16 n 5/16. The reason for return being same size is to not restrict flow more than regulator already is.
