1967 Dodge Coronet 440. Purchased from the original owner in 1986. Originally a 318 that was converted to a 67 440 motor and 727 transmission 17 years ago. The 440 has been rebuilt and has a forged crank and pistons. It has 915 closed chamber heads as well as a mild hydraulic camshaft and dual plane intake. Trans has been rebuilt with a shift kit at the same time and a mild stall converter installed. Excellent running, smooth combination excellent for cruising. Has 2500 miles since completion. Behind the transmission is a custom Dynotech Engineering 3" alum driveshaft, spinning a set of 3.23 gears and factory sure grip unit. Exhaust consists of hooker headers and TTI exhaust system exiting GTX exhaust tips in stainless 2.5".
Suspension is full XV Motorsports level I kit. This includes 1.12 torsion bars, custom alum shocks, f & r sway bars, adjustable strut rods and special leaf springs and urethane bushings. It also has a firm feel stage III steering box. The car corners like its on rails despite the 15" wheel and tire combination. It is a true sleeper. Nobody expects flat cornering from a car that looks like this..It also has front disc brakes, rear drums with a dual diaphragm booster and a vacuum reserve can. Braking system has all new lines and hoses.
The body was original when purchased. The pass side quarter was replaced, but the driver side was patched. All other metal is original to the car. None of the floors had to be replaced. The car was painted 13 years ago and still looks excellent. Painted in VIPER RED. There are some very small bubbles at the bottom of the drivers quarter, front fender and trunk lid lip. Bumpers were redone, all lenses in nice condition too.
All glass except for the windshield is original and in nice condition. Both window gaskets, roof rail and door weatherstrips were changed along the the belt line weatherstrips and door lock seals. All stainless trim is real nice and straight. Sail panel trim could use re chroming but is not damaged in any way.
The interior was redone with new seat covers, carpet and headliner over the last 11 years and looks excellent. The speedometer was replaced with a 150 mph unit as well. Orig radio is in place but does not work. Auxiliary gauges have been added. The original gauges work also. Heat works properly.
This is a very solid and complete car that is ultra reliable and performs excellent. This is a serious car being sold at a fair price from a private owner.
