This car is going to be stunning! The purple and white are really going to pop together. I had a purple and white 70 Charger R/T. The original owner was the brother in law of a guy I knew that had a beautiful B5 blue 70 Charger R/T SE survivor car about 15 years ago. When the purple Charger R/T was new,the guy who bought the blue Charger R/T, had taken his brother in law to go look at new Chargers. He test drove the purple car and drove by the house to show the car to his wife, who upon seeing the car, replied " take that car back to the dealer, it's too gaudy ! " He returned the purple Charger R/T which had a white top, white interior, white tail stripe, white 440 engine callout decals on top of the V24 blackout hood treatment,a J81 go wing, hood pins,15 inch rallye wheels, and G36 painted racing mirrors. It was a loaded car with a sticker price of 5 grand. After returning the purple car to the dealer, he ordered the more subtle B5 blue Charger R/T SE with a more conservative luggage rack on the trunk and the side pinstripes. The brother in law was so smitten by the purple Charger R/T that he was taken on the test drive in that he went back to the dealership and purchased the purple Charger R/T that was now on the showroom floor of Paul Goldman Dodge in South Attleboro Massachusetts. I purchased the car after it had been repainted twice, once in gold, after the factory purple paint peeled off in sheets when the car was about a year and a half old, then later in dark green. It was driven hard and left to rust away in the yard when I bought it. With no aftermarket sheetmetal available to save the rusty Dodge I parted out the car. That's the story of the gaudy purple 70 Charger R/T. RCs project brings back memories of how cool that car would have been restored. The blue 70 Charger R/T SE led a pampered life only racking up 32,000 miles, being lovingly garaged and cared for until the original owners passing about 15 years ago.
