The Roach

The firewall looks original. I thought you had to modify it to clear the intake.

You can see the firewall surgery that was done here .......

When you're good, you're good! Can't even tell can you?

We'll find out how good he is in a few weeks when the engine goes back in.

I knew that you had to run a 3 speed wiper motor since the gold can lays parallel with the firewall but I thought that it had to be recessed rearward more for the solenoid on the back of the intake.
It is great when the work turns out so well, it looks like a factory effort or better.

The wiper can was not the issue. It was the sheetmetal.

Here is the '70 Belvedere front stub I used in Jigsaw.

Here is yours.

The ridge below the wiper motor hole is up higher on yours but also looks as if it were tilted out at the bottom. It may be an illusion, I'm just curious about the differences. Yours does look subtle enough to make it look undisturbed.

Notice the differences.

Old eyes.
I’d probably have to be right in front of it to notice.

If you can't see the difference from those 2 photos I'd be making an appointment with the optometrist :)

I couldn't see the difference on a tiny cell phone screen. It is evident on the laptop while indoors.

Got the (modified) firewall insulation and the vintage air box installed today.

Had to shave a little off of the wiper pivot. A little too close for comfort.

That was a consideration when I did the Vintage Air installation in Dwayne's Plymouth. I was advised to look for potential clearance problems but his pivot lever cleared by about an inch.

It's nice when the dash is out and you can get to everything. That is something that might have been overlooked if you were installing the system in a car that still has everything in place.

the headliner next? Were are the sail panel emblems? Looks great Mark.
