She would freeze her buns here. The thermostat is set at 65 for the winter.
OK Chicken Little, please call 911.Drive your collectible combustion engine cars as much as you can guys. A lot of electric automotive industry movement in the last couple of days. Just today, I casually heard a GM plant in Lordstown, OH is being converted to an all electric car plant. Also heard today, a electric car plant had just been purchased in my poor economic area.
Like many people, I’m sure. Thought about the reality of how far off this topic is upon us over the past couple of years. Knew it was very close, but also thought it would be several years in reality. The reality is, it’s here now. Things are about to change drastically concerning combustion engines. We have to remember, how much faster technology increases times of change today. It’s going to be extremely interesting to see how these things transition from one to the next. I hope they don’t sell one damn car !

Some one will have to figure out how to control the weight on trucks for that to happen.Unfortunately I think electric cars are here to stay. The super high torque of an electric motor makes it idea for large machinery. I could see trucks and farm equipment taking the route of trains and going with an internal combustion engine as the prime mover and using electric traction motors coupled to the wheels.
A small diesel or gas motor with traction motors would not weigh any more than a large diesel engine does now. If you are talking about payload, by using phased power you can make an electric motor run at max power at all speeds. Some one will have to figure out how to control the weight on trucks for that to happen.
Sorry you California guys are misinformed! We are turning corn into gas as we speak by the trainload. .you will never see a modern piece of farm equipment run on a dumb battery or a big rig for that matter. . .the country
We may never see it in our lifetime but some of us don't have that much time left LOL. The trend is towards electric cars and it will happen. In 10 years if that long half of the commuter cars will be electric. As one guy said technology is making things move fast. As far as having enough power to charge them, Have we ever worried about things like that before? We make the product and figure out the problems and worry about the repercussions later. It's the American way![]()
Did you know there are only two countries in the world not on the metric system. USA and a small African country with less than 100,000 people.
It is all bullshit. It won't happen.
ExactamudoWhere does everyone think electric comes from? It has to be generated some where and those plants run on some kind of fuel........
The rest of the world did..........!It is all bullshit. It won't happen.
Remember when we were supposed to convert to the metric system???![]()
THere are TWO kinds of countries in this world. The rest of the world did..........!
Wishful thinking!Just in.... Calfornia will now ban all-electric cars under proposition 65 stating that the materials in electric cars cause cancer in the state of California.
