This is a race car!

Put him in a Nascar 'stocker' with no turning brake, 3500 lbs, rear wheel drive only and in a pack of 42 other cars.
Wonder how he would do then.
And I am not knocking him, he is a great driver.

no offense, but what would that prove ? nascar cant come close to the skill of F1 or rally racing ..... not trying to put down nascar, i used to follow it myslef, but its old technology going fast around an oval track ! its crazy how much better motorsports is outside of america .... but they are building a new F1 track in texas, supposed to open in 2014 !!!!!!!!!!!!

I even got my wife to watch this video, in the car en route to Cowboys Stadium for HS state championship on her ipad, she said it was insane! I told her I'd love to put her and her mother and me in that car and go for a 'ride', I'd laugh my *** off as they would be scared shitless, especially my mother in law, seeing that old P. Rican bag scared out of her wits would be PRICELESS!!!

If I could get her old wise cracking *** on video scared shitless, for sure, that would be for all to see!

Already got a taste of how scared she gets; when I bought my Avalanche 4x4 I immediately took it off roading in the some fields and took it up a grassy knoll, she about shat her pants!!!

thats funny, i took my wife out to a car show in the 65 and punched it.... she screamed all the way until 3rd gear !! cracked me up !

the guys got it going on. Definitely not afraid to push it to the edge.

But i wouldnt say "most versitile in the world"... nascar doesnt even come close to F1, rally, australian V8 supercars. you ever watch them ? those guys drive theyre *** off ...

NASCAR is living in la-la land, to think and believe the NASCAR drivers are better or equal to the F1 and Rallye types is laughable! I wonder if the chap who says this rubbish ever lived in Europe for any length of time?

+1. Not a huge fan of euro stuff but they're alot more skilled.

lets not forget american lemans, GMP and scca/trans-am series ........ sorry but nascar has no chance.....

65 440,
What I was trying to say was running a Nascar stocker ain't a walk in the park.

Go try it yourself...............
3500#s, 750 hp, skinny tires, not much downforce, small brakes because of the 15" tires and 42 other people all around you.
Some of the best F1 drivers have tried it and could not handle it.
Two totally different types of driving.

hey guys, i just had to share this with you all:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wGPunTR-2rg

check the movie at 57 seconds..me in the pink car.
it is a televisionshow, which played in holland a few years back. Every lunatic with an old car could join in.
Enjoy the movie,

cheers, Marcel
the Netherlands

man that video was funny as hell !!! gotta pick up a festiva and have some fun ! ....

yellowdart, please dont take offense i just dont agree that nascar has the most versitile drivers in the world. there is alot more driving skill in other racing series..granted it might not be easy, and im sure alot of that has to do with the car setup not "hard racing". did you know Marcus Ambrose is an ex-F1 driver ? a good one too, but there is soo much $$$ involved with those teams that those that cant keep up after a while get the boot. now he is with a nascar team.........

Don't see too many open wheel drivers doing well in a CRASHCAR stockcar....not even on the road courses either. I like racing of all kinds but to each their own but open wheel never appealed to me much. Just touch someone and you're out....and as far as scaring the wife....my X would crap if I just acted like I was going to race someone from a stop light. Punching the gas in a stock 383 Challenger made her scream! Just one of the many reasons she's an X....have no idea why I even married the b____.
