This is a race car!

NASCAR is living in la-la land, to think and believe the NASCAR drivers are better or equal to the F1 and Rallye types is laughable! I wonder if the chap who says this rubbish ever lived in Europe for any length of time?

No ****! I sit on the edge of my seat when I watch rally racing especially when these guys are flying down dirt roads in the mountain areas and you gotta feel for the navigator.

so if she cant handle big block acceleration, shes not a keeper huh !!!!
It wasn't just cars she hated.....hated all of my friends and damn near everything I did and then when she called me another man's name after I got off in the middle of the night from working a double shift.......well, you get the idea. Stayed with her for 5 years too long and had to really think why she even married me in the first place so hell yeah she wasn't a keeper. I sure hope you approve now.

That wasn't the point I was making.
The point I was making is that TWO drivers that JUST HAPPEN to be in the Nascar series, are, by FAR, the two BEST and most VERSITILE drivers in the world.
Period. End of story.

Example:
Take Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart. Then pick, say, ten other drivers in ANY autosport, and put them in a winner-take-all format of one race each in the following series:
1) Nascar cup car
2) Indy car
3) F1
4) Rally
5) NHRA Funny car (just funny car)
6) GTP (LeMans cars, I think that's what you call them)
7) WoO Winged Sprint Cars
8) USAC midgets (dirt only, and someplace difficult, like Eldora when it gets black)
9) Off-Road Championship Trucks
10) Drifting (yeah, I know, but I know some idiot here would bring it up if I didn't included it).

Ok. Take the top 12 worlds' best drivers and run them in an "IROC Series-type" scenerio" in ten different vehicles and let's see who has the best overall average finish at the end, that being the winner and thus the best overall driver in the world.

I guarantee it will be one of the two drivers that I've mentioned.

And I forgot about this little clip from a couple years ago:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2jkeQBaWtE

Jeff Gordon gets in an F1 car for THE VERY FIRST TIME EVER and after a few laps is ONLY ONE SECOND OFF OF THE STARTING GRID QUALIFYING TIME.

Argue away, guys...:)

too bad in F-1, 1 second is the difference b/t pole postion and 10th !!!

Not the point.
Name one other driver in the world, who is NOT or was NOT an F1 driver, that could hop in an F1 car for the FIRST time EVER, and in less than 20 minutes gets within ONE SECOND of the F1 starting grid. (Tony Stewart not-withstanding).

I'll help: There is NONE. No one.

There's none that we know of, but, there is/was Valentino Rossi who did the same feat in an F1 car. Do I need to tell you who Valentino Rossi is? If I do, then, you are endlessly stuck in NASCAR!

Nope. I knew who he was long before most people.
Put him on dirt in 4 wheels and my money says he looks like a fool.

Now, Tony Stewart, that's another story.

ahhh, "the doctor" .... nice to see he finally got with Ducati ! .... although him and Lorenzo were kick-*** together !!

Yamaha can't be happy

Wish they'd bring FIA Rally cars here! Or at least have Speed carry the races like they used to.

Here a video of the rallycross-track near my hometown. There are different classes ( I like the turbocharged class shown at 2.33 ).Iit is fun to visit such a race, you can have your beer and watch the competition going on there. But there is ONE bad thing with these cars. They only got 4 cylinders!!!
