Been thinking about a Saiga 12 semi auto.
I heave heard they jam a lot but I was told it was cheap ammo or the none magnum stuff was the cause. Need to have the extra oomph to work it. ??
I know a pump is dependable but I want a dependable semi.

If I dont buy a Roadrunner this is my second choice...LOL

Im partial to the benelli supernovas they are pretty sweet. Or a winchester marine magnum. I don't trust semi auto 12 gauge shotguns. Or any semi auto for that matter. Only dependable semi gun I have is the SKS, both my ruger's 44 mag and 22 have jamed before.

I shouldn't say jammed, but failed to feed next round. I say buy the saiga 12 if you like it. Then re-sell it if it doesn't float your boat.

If you want one you better get one now. Imported semi-auto shotguns are number one on the list of guns the BATFE is going after.

I was in the ATF in the Fed building in WA in the early 90's doing work as a subcontractor..LOL

lol - I knew this would turn into a gun forum sooner or later.

They are nice and some do have problems with cheap ammo from what I've read but I like a good pump shotgun and my AK the way it was meant to be. The problem also with these is the mags are not cheap and they are all plastic mags. I have seen people making metal mags and selling them but still high. I wouldnt mind to own one but it wont do anything different then my Mossberg 500 will.

You will have a hard time finding a more enjoyable weapon for the money. I prefer my Benelli M4 because it shoots much faster but siaga with a drum is good for an afternoon of laughs. Buy one, you will not regret it.

i have had a saiga 12 for some time now.the only jamming happened when the gun and clips were new.i read in a gun forum that it took about 500 rounds to break in the gun and clips.so out to the range i went.about 600 plus rounds later and that thing is by far the smoothest shotgun i have ever fired.just spent a week end shooting super cheep #8 shot low base target loads through it and no jams in over a hundred rounds.buy the gun, break it in,have a blast!

I have a saiga 7.62x39. It is internally the same as an AK. Not as sure on the shotguns but I bet they are smilar. I find it funny the BATF and anti-gun people target straw man weapons. People are not slaughtering other people by the hundreds with these weapons. The last year I looked up stats and did an analysis for was 2009 and that was less than 20 people killed by assault type weapons. 380 total all and around 800 by hands and fists. Gun deaths are down even more ths year as a total so you can bet that number is low. Scary looking does not equal more dangerous or deadly. I would suggest getting one fairly soon incase the laws change overnight.

Speaking of scary ;) haha yes this is mine... wasr 10/63 i finished the wood..:D
