Waking up the beast

glad to see it was something simple...

Well, since I'm off of work this week, old fatty is going on a diet. My car too. I'll have results of that later today.

Just weighed everything up that I took off today and it totaled 30.28 LBS! Still more to go. Lots of dynomat to take out yet.

every little bit helps

another 0.003 potentially, just so far !!

I assume you'll be rear/trunk mounting that battery,
adding a on off SFI safety KILL switch,
aluminum firewall/beerier between the trunk & passenger compartment...

I guess there's no rules in NEDRA against removing the wipers or radio etc...
still have to maintain 2 seats ??, even a back seat ?? carpeting ??

a lighter smaller diameter piston in an alum. Master Cylinder, will shed a few more lbs...

I guess it's going to be more of a dedicated racecar, track-day mostly, car now...

It's all for a good cause...LOL... speed & et baby

I see a cage & 10's in the very near future too...

running an electric water-pump,
& electric fan will freeing up revs & pick-up a few more ponies,
& possibly an ever so slightly better et too

SHHHH! don't bring up NENDRA rules. I'm going to try and sneak under the radar.

Alright, now you're talkin!! How's about glass bumpers and deck lid. I saved 60 lbs between glass rear bumper, deck lid and the custom rear bumper brackets I made. Add the front bumper and bet I goes up to 75 lbs or more. Front bumper brackets take it close to 100 lbs. Then relocate that big *** optima battery and almost 50 of those pounds are right back in the rear where they belong.

Let me know if you're interested and I'll PM you the name of the member I bought mine from. I believe he has another set he might be selling.

Another (crazy) idea is a magnum force front suspension/ k member. I've read it takes over 100 off the front end (up to 150). Of course it's like $5,000,000 lol. But a hundo is a hundo.

That and fiberglass puts you near 200 lbs off the front end... and after setting that victor setup... Into the 10's.

If you have the info, Send it over, thanks. Maybe you would entertain selling a set of those brackets you made as well?

ex-lax the night before racing should be worth a tenth.......... half a tenth in south jersey :glasses10:

I just got notified from Island dragway and Lebanon Valley that you are being watched very carefully. No faster than 11.50 for next year.
You've been warned.

Alum drive shaft? Heater box, emergncy brake, horn, heater hoses, power steering, wipers & linkage, glove box, all exhaust brackets, 6 cylinder torsion bars, lower car (less wind resistance) just a few ideas.... If you can knock off about 150 pounds that should about offset the roll bar.
