What did you do to your Mopar today?

I'm doing the kick panel thing on my 73 and the 66/67 is similar.

5 1/4 Pioneer, but could take a 6 1/5 I f I put a ring to help.

I'm not too familiar with 65 and earlier.

Stainless steel front license plate bracket installed today! It's a WV car and had no provision for one, and then spent some time tracking down an electronic gremlin in the starting circuit.

Just a simple re glue of the trunk seal! Probably the easiest job I'll ever have on it!

Tuesday night and Wednesday night: Filled the diff with gear oil, torqued the flex plate bolts, mounted the dust shield, torqued the conversion mount bolts, removed the starter, installed the exhaust manifold, reinstalled the starter, installed the oil dipstick tube (PITA).

The wedge trans dipstick tube wouldn't clear the hemi valve covers so my brother and I "fixed" it with fire (I torched it red while he bent it).

Hung up the exhaust system for one side and measured for the flex couplings and cutouts, washed out the rust mud from the radiator, hooked up the rad hoses.

So close to start-up and break-in I can hardly stand it.

last evening, made nitrous solenoid brackets, installed the solenoids and brackets. torqued the blow off valve on the bottle:)

Used the 72 Dart to go house hunting, then parked behind the cemetery to play in the creek and look for crawdads.
Found fresh water mussels, lots of ducks, but no crawdads.

Made a shakedown drive yesterday all the way down Lake Shore Drive in Chicago and back north.
The driver's side motor mount had been separated for a long time, and noticed last night that the pass side had smeared itself into useless pile of shards.
Replaced both this morning, and the driver's side is the kind that has internal locking bolts so as to not pull apart.

Had them for at least 5 years but life's been too crazy to get around to be changing them.
It will be nice to get deep into the gas pedal without worrying.
Taking my kids and an old friend to my hometown for the parade, a cookout, and fireworks.
Looking forward to applying some real torque from the Commando 383!

My Sport Satellite got a new TCI Sizzler AT and Torque Converter. Negotiating for a used/rebuilt 8 3/4nRear for this same car.

Trip to NW Indiana was delayed 15min by major electrical short caused by people sitting in back seat of convertible.
Wire to amp for rear seat speakers began SMOKING! Everybody out, key off, seat out, fire ext readied, found the pinched wire, isolated it, and back on our way.
We were taking the OLD route of Highway 41 through the south side of Chicago, and the drawbridges, both of 'em, one of which we all have seem the Blues Brothers jump, well, they were up, so we had to go 'way south through Hegewisch, and along through East Chicago, something didn't smell right.
Everyone else thought it was "industry",
and then I saw smoke curling up beside me at the driver's door.
As soon as I isolated the short, a quick turn of the key showed the ammeter no longer pegged over on D, so back on the road.
This is why I love my ammeters!
Before we left, went to the gas station 2 blocks away, and as I pulled in, the engine flooded to a stop.
Bought gas, cleared it out, and went home.
Pulled the top off the AFB, checked the needle valves, and for the first time ever, actually SAW the tiny piece of sand on the seating part of the rubber tip that was holding it open! Took 20 minutes total. Another reason I love my carburetors.
They can have issues, but they have never ever ruined my plans for the day.

Well today I finally did it, I removed my stock linkage set, which I really hated to do and installed the lokar kickdown and throttle set, no matter what I did I could never get it to kickdown right, I'll fine tune and adjust it tomorrow then go for a joy ride and see what needs done next!!!

installed Hotchkis subframe connectors on my 66. already did the sways sometime back. this car handles tight! better than my caravan which is what i set my expectations at

welding laying on your back/side is an experience.

Ordered new front and rear SS brake lines.

Tried to do a few things but this kind of got in the way-

Yep, that's 109 degrees.

The "official" NOAA high that day at the closest airport was 96* and "only" 88% humidity.

I verified that thermometer against my home digital A/C thermostat- they both read 78* in the house.

Ordered more parts for one project, and dropped off a 8 3/4 pig for disassembly and degrease...then off to the powder-coater.

Yesterday I replaced the gas tank and sending unit (3/8), I bought from Rock Auto. The disappointment was with the new strap. The end where the bolt goes through was bent backwards. Plus the new bolt I bought, "L" shaped with a large round head, wouldn't fit the frame hole. That was a waist of money. I saved the factory one and reused it. I painted the inside of frame rails and trunk floor, with Eastwood's rust encapsulator. I did notice the left rear spring mount near the bumper had a rust hole in it. This and the rotten torsion bar mount, will get replaced this winter. I ordered a zip kit for the two barrel Stromberg, besides the fuel line, which is the stock one, I just blew it out with compressed air, till I put the cross member this line will do, as a new one is on the shelf. Next chance I get I'll put the 8 3/4 in. Then new rear wheels and tires.

Tried to siphon the old 87 out of my tank to replace with 93. Just ended up with a mouth full of gas. Burped volatile fumes the rest of the evening and stayed away from pilot lights...

Attempted to start the hemi for the first time, wouldn't start and shot a huge fireball out of the manifold. Need to verify my distributor installation and try again...

I looked at mine as I walked past them in the garage this morning to go to work.
