What did you do to your Mopar today?

I was a little embarrassed to complain about the temp here as others were posting 110 plus.

So, I took a second thermometer to the shop, and verified it

Now I don't feel bad at all. esp with humidity!

I have those cometic VC gaskets for my small block but haven't installed them yet.

I have heard nothing but positive excepting the price.

Tried to siphon the old 87 out of my tank to replace with 93. Just ended up with a mouth full of gas. Burped volatile fumes the rest of the evening and stayed away from pilot lights...

Attempted to start the hemi for the first time, wouldn't start and shot a huge fireball out of the manifold. Need to verify my distributor installation and try again...

There's always a safe way to siphon, but some people don't mind the taste of gasoline. :)

At least it's better than someone I knew years ago who wanted to solder up a tank. The smart thing to do of course, was remove the explosive fumes. So he popped in the hose to a vacuum cleaner, turned it on and promptly blew up the vacuum.

Assembly of the Dana 60 housing for my GtX....next is paint and factory markings!

^^^LOL at the vacuum cleaner story...classic.

Reminds me of when I purchased my GTX. The seller thought we could try start it up after 12 years of not running. So he went to siphon some gas from another car for me, and promptly filled his mouth with fuel. So what does he do? Spits it out and takes a few swigs of lemonade...a great mixer I thought. Needless to say, the car would not start, and it was a fun few minutes. :D

Added phenolic spacers under my low-deck 6bbl,
also new -6 AN fuel lines & fitting
with a repop fiberglass A12 air pan to seal the hood scoop to the pan
nice clean fresh cool dense air {had a 70 style 6bbl non fresh air base}
had to do a bit of mods to the outboards spacers to clear the 50cc acc. pump
& trim a bit off the rear spacer front portion 1/4" cut off, re-jetted...

kind of a hassle on a 68 RR with the 2 speed wiper motor sticking straight out
I had to clearance a bit on the base with a hole saw nipped a part off
at an angle & kept the top flange, if that makes any sense ?...
I doesn't go into the air cleaner area thou....

seems to really like it on the beat run the other day

Replaced burnt out bulbs in instrument panel, still have one by ammeter that is playing coy. Maybe
have an opened up circuit board trace because the grounding screw is tight.
Can't delete that imogi face....
Lubed the speedo cable.
Cleaned VR points and adjusted gaps so the needle now only does the tiniest little dance like they did when new.
The editor is acting very wacky for this post!

Installed Super Insulator on the floor and re-installed the carpet.

Installed rear seat belts.

Routed power and speaker wires for stereo. Installed the low profile sub woofer.

Worked on the console trim panels. Stripped the paint off the chrome and the two layers of wood grain. Ready for paint. Ordered new wood grain overlay.

Interesting tidbit: Ma Mopar yellow cad plated the thin sheet metal that the wood grain overlay is applied to; To prevent rust?

Added blue LED bulbs to aftermarket gauges to match the dash lights.

Well this was yesterday... But I started putting in a couple of patches on the drivers side floor board...Screwed up though... I thought I had cut back far enough to get good metal...but after the 8th tack everything went south...kept blowing holes... Cut all the tacks loose started over...got about half way done ..before leaving for the Saturday night cruise...keep grinding!!!

replaced the MOROSO blue valve cover gaskets, they are pretty soft & got cuts in them from sharp machined edges on the cyl heads, put some Cometic rubber type on, so far no leaks.

Gave the Hellcat its first oil change & late took Submit for a little ride in it.

I have 4k on mine now. How far have you flexed yours so far?
An old friend called me cause he heard I had one. --He's a muscle car guy from way back.
We were out in the country while I discribed some of the things that made the hellcat different from the other SRT8s. I pulled over and said do you want to drive it?
He was nervous and declined. I said--come on now--are you really sure you want to pass on this---a nice day a fun car and an open road?
He gave in and got in the drivers seat. His grin was tense as he played with it but soon relaxed.
We came to a stop intersection with a right turn. Before the wheels were straight from turning he put extra on the gas in first gear (man. trans.) the back end came around and he corrected quite well but drove like grandma from there forward.
I like my Hellcat.

Put a fork in that pig . . .

Made another trip up to visit 747Mopar in Ohio . . . and had yet another great trip. We attended the Goodguys Show in Columbus on Saturday, and had a great time wandering around and viewing all the incredible cars . . .

Part of the trip was to have have Devin help me with assembling the pig for my Belvedere convertible - that consisted of a trip to Summit Racing to pic up a new 3.91 Ring and Pinion gear - and all the rest of the part to get the Auburn Limited Slip gear ( that I bought last year ) assembled in the pig . . .

And the build was a great success . . . yes, it took 3, or 4, or 5 . . . ok - Who's counting attempts to finally get it right . . . but here's the ring pattern

Then on my trip back to North Carolina I drove past this set of old cars heading home too . . .
Very Nice Wagon ! ! !
