What did you do to your Mopar today?

Thought about how lucky I am that my '70 GTX is not a rusty pig. :D

Heading to the alignment shop....gonna have to tow it (AAA) because I just rebuilt the whole front end and it's all over the place. ..

Driving home from the alignment shop will be my first drive more than 20 feet since I got my new engine running! 16 miles of smiles!

blasted and primed hood hinges, getting ready for weekend engine compartment spray.

So dammed hot , I didn't get far from A/C. Took keys and door locks to a locksmith so The locks would work with the new ignition key. Talked to my younger ace mechanic about putting in a new rear main seal. I'm getting to old for that extensive crawl around under the car stuff. Painted and put back together my old style PCV valve and holder. Tomorrow , have an appointment to replace my new custom bent tailpipes. They are rattleing against the rear shocks..Sure hope it is cooler in the morning..............................MO

Sweet. OK, RC, it's obvious you've got a thing for Chargers.

Is this one "done" or are you going to "freshen it up" like your silver one?

Body is very, very nice, but it needs some detailing under the hood & door jambs, plus get the a/c working.

I have an appointment with an auto glass installer this morning. He's going to install a new windshield and fix the leak in the back window. I can't wait to get rid of that wiper mark on the driver's side. It's right in my line of sight; very irritating. How can someone have the wipers on and not know there is no rubber between the blade and glass?

If the blade tears while being used, it only has to make a couple passes...before ruining the windshield.

Makes a lot of sense.

My Mom came over when I got home from getting my new windshield and I asked her about it. She said back in the day a lot of cars had wiper scrapes.

How much was it to have the windshield done? I have a windshield but no new gasket, and I wonder if the original can be re-used.
It looks good.

If the original is still pliable, not cracked, and hasn't shrunk....it'll probably work better than a repop. Make sure to seal gasket to body, and gasket to windshield. The factory used that gray/nasty ****, called bedding compound.

It cost $225 installed and I provided the seal. I didn't reuse the existing seal even though it was fairly new since I had a leak and I had already bought the new seal. Jerry, my glass man, didn't like Precision seals and prefers to use the ones made by Steele Rubber. Jerry said he's never had any problems installing windshields with Steele seals; no leaks, either.

Use you old gasket at your own risk. But it's too much trouble to swap it if it leaks.

By the way, the new glass from PGW (Pittsburgh Glass Works) needed to be ground down at the top as it was about 1/8 inch taller than my original glass. Jerry spent a lot of time trying to install that glass until he measured it against the old one.
