What did you do to your Mopar today?

Most of the repop/chi-com ****, isn't worth a damn. If you have a high-dollar resto, and can find NOS glass....it'll make life easier. I'm trying to find well-fitting e-body convertible side glass. One place wouldn't even sell me their chi-com crap. The compound curves aren't correct.

nothing !!!!! Excessive Heat Warning
NYC and Southern NY State
3 hours ago – National Weather Service
Dangerous heat and humidity through ... remains in effect until 10 PM EDT Sunday. Heat Index values today,105 to 110 degree Heat Index values Sunday, around 105 degrees ...

not sure how it went to the weather channel...LOL

Calif. has them temps most summers, not as much humidity up here,
gets into the 45%-50% range occasionally & when it's 105* & 45% humidity
you sweat standing still in the shade,
but we get several weeks at a time, even into late Aug., more muggy/nasty,
even up in the foothills central Calif. Sierra's...
Some years worse than others...

I feel sorry for Super_Bee-ski up in the desert, but it's dry heat,
yeah right...

We had a week of that stuff & supposed to have another hot week
starting this weekend, I hope not, the A/C is running overtime...LOL

At-least I have A/C though...
A ton of the North east & East coast, east of the Mississippi &
especially the old buildings/townships etc.,
won't/don't have it, than people always complain when it gets hot...
{or old people die}
Swamp coolers are mostly all junk & just add to humidity IMO...

The guys in Arizona deal with that crap for months at a time
& monsoons too, but again it's just dry heat...LOL
Not during the monsoon season, it's not...

Thought about how lucky I am that my '70 GTX is not a rusty pig. :D
Amen to that !!
I'll second that note....

I love the western & southwestern cars
& Calif. cars for that fact alone...

Trying to get some work done on the Convertible . . . even in the heat . . .

Sat down on the computer with my buddy and started the design work on the set of built in door handles that I'll be using for my convertible . . . so that when the heat does let up a bit, we'll be able to get into the shop and throw some metal shavings on the floor with the designs . . .

Here's some of what we're coming up with . . .

Broke off the bolt head on top of my master cylinder clamp :mad:Doesn't want to come out so I ordered a new master cylinder....

Put brake pedal back together.

Man, that is the WORST position to get into and out of.

Replaced cotter pins with clevis pins so I didn't have to get up in there and bend stuff and to eliminate that part of the multi-part headache if there's a next time.

Blasted and painted some brackets and the hockey puck head shield.

Installed the gas pedal and got the column almost ready to go in.

Claiming victory, and starting to feel the down hill side of the project.

Ran into a bit of a problem with the calipers. Seems I failed to notice rockauto sent me two different styles. One is correct, the other has bosses for the line in two places, but only one drilled. The casting puts the hose in an awkward place.

Wish I'd have noticed before I painted them. I think it will work but I'm not super happy.

Sitting right next to mine as I type. This was supposed to be the year I worked on it but life is getting in the way again. :( I was sick in January AND March then the wife ended up in the hospital in May so I got way behind not to mention money spent but I'm catching up on stuff that requires a good back (don't have much of that anymore) and a small brain (got lots of that) so maybe by the time the weather start cooling off, I'll be in a decent position to get back to work on it.

I like Kindig's cars etc but I'm about tired of his door handles on every build he does.....

I have big love for B-Bodies!!!!!
I'm hoping to add a Roadrunner, Sport Satellite or GTX to the stable as soon as funds allow!

Jeff
Me Too. $$$$$$ has kept me in A bodies.... LOL (but I love a bodies also)

Tried patching some half $$$ sized holes, kept blowing through....not wanting/expecting a perfect pan. & I'm going to undercoat it but.... Holes turned into dollar bill size or larger... Kind of disappointed...Really starting to reconsider replacing the full pans.....

Beautiful weather day. Wifey and I went on a 160 mile road trip with the Brutus Dodge. Went to see an old friend that is a tin bender. Looking to see how he would fabricate the tubing for the fresh air ram induction using the inner headlights for incoming air. Hopefully later this week ................................MO

Installed a remanufactured VP44 this evening. Just the pump, still need to finish all the rest tomorrow.

Took Brutus to the exhaust guy. tailpipes were ratteling and he made new ones. Fixed that! On way home I wanted to test my front disc brakes and oversize rear drums.. with NO proportioning valve. I jumped on them pretty hard and they work good, no prop valve needed.
BIG bonus, after I did that the fuel gauge that has been giving me fits, started working ! ( knock on wood).................................MO
