What did you do to your Mopar today?

Northwest drive train just called & said the drive shaft is ready, will go tomorrow & get it.

Got tired of wiping up a small oil spot on the floor every other day and had a bit of smoke coming off the headers. Today was an Oil change, new filter, valve cover and oil pan gaskets.

Thought I'd just bleed the brakes and be done with it. But no, I found three fittings leaking. Re-flared all three, but two still leaked. I put thread tape on them, and no more leak. Took it for a ride, and heard thumping noises coming from the rear, and right front. I put new shocks on the rear this week, and I didn't have time to check tonight. But I remember from years ago, that the top shock metal bushing, varies from one maker to another, in length. If to short, when you tighten the upper bolt that goes through the mount, you pull the mount closer together. And the mount ends up hitting the top of the shock. A couple of large washers, placed between the mount and that bushing usually fixes the noise. As for the noise in the front, I rebuilt it except for the lower control arm bushings. The front end was quiet before I took it apart. That to will have to be looked at latter. I did have a good stroke of luck, the rear end I had rebuilt was really quiet. All in all, a good day I guess.

Fixed the rear shock noise. I'll get to the noise in the front latter. Still not happy with the low brake pedal. Rechecked the rear wheel brake adjustment, bled the rear brakes. Will see if there is an improvement. Cleaned the interior, detailed the door jambs and latches and cleaned the inside glass. Will wash her up in the morning, have a show to attend.

Ok, so I did the valve cover and oil pan gaskets yesterday to stop the small oil leak we had. I came home from work tonight, go to the garage to see that everything is ok, no oil on the floor. BUT...now the transmission gasket is leaking, small puddle right under the pan :BangHead:. Next week trans gasket, filter and just to make sure the cooling system does not feel left out, I will flush the system and make sure it's ready for the winter.

Finished the 3" TTI exhaust system up and took her outside to see how it sounds.

Blew up the Chevy and pulled rear end out to narrow in coronet, stripped car for rotisserie, got ready to cut mini tubs, making template to cut inbound spring kit on flowjet and new mopar spring perches came.

Got pan and gasket back on.

Put a little black RTV on the pan step where the tit of the rubber seal goes in, ran a bead over the junction of the timing cover to block, a little where the main gasket meets the metal of the timing cover (where there was a also depression in the casting), and some where the flat gasket meets the rubber.

Torqued to 120 inch pounds in 10 lb intervals starting at 60 lbs with the middle bolts and working out.

Our car club hosted our 11th annual car show this year in the little town of Braham Mn. (North Country Hillbilly's). We ended up having spectacular weather. 72° for the high and nothing but sun!! Record turn out for our show. 127! WOOT!

Earlier this week I had finished painting the trunk lid of my car and mounted my new letters. I figure 99% of the population will not know that something changed or that it should only be 5 letters back there. Lol! Yay for the small things :)

Side shot. I painted the wheels the same color as the car, I just did a few coats of clear over the top. Not sure how I feel about it yet. I'll give it till the end of the season and may change it up over winter to something else maybe a charcoal with heavy flake in it or go powder coated.

Had to, I'm doing tile and drywall on our new house, wife was gone have to jam on the car when she's not looking. Plus have nova apart waiting on parts. Trying to get coronet ready for garlets, in primer if nothing else.

Cut the big spare tire well in the trunk out ( no more basement in the trunk ) and fabricated up this panel to make the floor of the trunk flat . . .

All of the welding is done, and most of the grinding . . . need to double check the underside - finish grinding - and get it in epoxy primer . . .

Looks good, I'm thinking I'm having to do the same, what are you planning for a fuel tank if I can ask.

I did something similar with mine, but I only took the front half. I also modified a gas tank to utilize that space, giving me another 5 gallons in the tank.
I'm keeping the deep pocket in the back half to be used for other uses purposes, storage, battery well, electronics, whatever... I haven't decided yet.

I'm mini tubbing and relocating the springs, haven't looked into fuel tanks or cells yet, was hoping to cheat off of someone else if I could.

Put air in one of the slicks that went flat on the WO car.
