What did you do to your Mopar today?

More blasting and painting.

I'm really loving the Krylon Tough Rust semi-flat.

Fabbed up a jig to bench bleed the M/C, so I wouldn't scratch off the fresh paint.
It's a mounting plate I cut off a single pot, froze up M/C a while ago just to get the 1/4 plate.
What ya know, I found a perfect use for it. My go to plunger pusher is a #3 Phillips.

Scored this Amprobe clamp on at a yard sale for $1.
Rusted shut, but 10 min with liquid wrench...
It works.

Oh, this pulled up across the street Zoom in---BB chevy powered.

Today my son and I stared at the car for a bit trying to decide what we were going to do, it needs a lot of work. I looked at my son and said, winter is coming and suggested we do a complete tear down. He looked at me and without hesitation, OK let's do it!

We put the car in the garage today and started the first day of our complete tare down. I hope I'm not making a mistake doing this.
If you look real hard at the first pic, that's a white piece of plastic gutter down spout! I will show you at a later time where we have 2x4's in the rear fenders. I tried to edit this post due to the pics and it will not let me, sorry.

Finally got the original ball joints out of the A arms. I knew my old 24inch pipe wrench would come in handing someday.

Pulled the Charger out on Sunday to go to a local show. The smell of gas was overwhelming. I shut it off, opened the hood, and hit the starter. There was a gas geyser coming up from behind the alternator. The "professional" shop I paid to do work on it while I was overseas had cut the Thermoquad hard line to make it work with the Edelbrock carb and just hose clamped rubber line on the smooth metal behind the alternator. Eventually, the inevitable happened and the smooth metal tube pushed out of the rubber. I've learned many hard lessons from paying someone to do things. The most important being that if you can do it yourself, then do it yourself. This is just the latest "professionally done" thing on my car I've had to redo/repair.

Yes lots! Luckily for us we have a second floor to our shop that is the same size as the first floor. Our plan is to divide that space up into sections, body, interior and so on. As the new parts are ordered put them with the old until reinstalled. Then take more pic's.

That sucks. It's so hard to find someone that has cares about the final outcome of their work and treat it like it's their own anymore. If your being paid to do something and you don't know how to do it correctly, just say so. I would have respect for their honesty. There is a small shop in my town, I needed to get the broken exhaust hanger fixed on my wife's truck, simple tac weld. If I had a welder I would do it myself. The guy inside told me he was not that good with welding and was not sure if his weld would hold. I thanked him for his time and his honesty. Fixed at another shop close to home. We live in a small town where people care about themselves and others. We are lucky to have such a great little town to live in, especially in NJ. I hope everything works out for you.
I assume you are in the military and that is why you were overseas. I want to thank you for your service and sacrifices so my family and I can live in such a great country and the small town I mentioned above. :thumbsup:

I'm thinking about what I'm going to do to them. It sucks, that nowdays you can't go to the parts store, hardware, etc....and just buy stuff you need. It's stupid, how everything has to be mail-ordered, takes forever, isn't what you expected[quality or shitty info], and then you have to do it over again. All this time, probably adds many months to my builds. GRRRRRR I'm always waiting for stuff. 1-2 weeks wait, to attach something that takes a few minutes, to a few hours.
 
Installed my PS cooler, and finally got the correct clamps for the hoses on barbed fittings. Now, fab one fitting, and receive another, cut and attach lines....then I can add the PS fluid to the system for the hydra-boost and Borgeson steering box. I just have to put on the hoses clamps for the rad hoses, add water, then fire it up to bleed the hydraulics. YEA!!! This is a very slow process, but it's gonna be to my liking.

Thursday, I drove her up to the U of M Hospital. A distance of just over a hundred miles, round trip. Filed up the new tank for the first time, and no leaks. I cruised up route twenty three averaging sixty five miles per hour. She ran great. Need to replace that sloppy steering gear box. Then she ought to pretty nice to handle. The only complaint is that I need to install cruise control. The throttle is harder to push, that and my right hip was soar after the trip.
 
Installed my new gas tank today with the help of my 9 yr old grand daughter Ella, could not have done it without her, dropped down on the dirty floor(on her back) and held the strap up with her foot so I could start the nut!! she really likes the old b-body and has helped with other stuff too. want to mention 521 restorations, as I got the tank from them was very pleased with quality and speed, tank was made in canada. pwDave
 
Good luck. I hate leaks. Seems like all my vehicles leak something.
I think this my last leak...!
Shouldn't be too bad. ...it's where the lines connect to the radiator. ...some thread tape and a through inspection and it should be solved.
It's easy to get to....just hate crawling around on the concrete with my bad back!

Sun is up in California. ..no better time than the present!

That's some nice looking wiring. You're making your own custom harness? Love that bulkhead and fuse block. I sell that stuff for a living.

It would be more accurate to say customizing the factory harness. I Started with a complete 98 Ram and have it down to just the drivetrain related components in the harness. I have been slowly depinning the factory connectors and rebundling the remaining essential wires to go through the bulkhead behind the engine. The other side is going to 2 Bussman fuse/relay panels that replace the entire factory power distribution center and junction block. CAN communications are still functional, as it the entire Ram instrument cluster. There are a total of 30 wires that remain and will pass through those bulkhead connectors. The remaining connections will be used for things like the lights and wipers rather than the OEM bulkhead connector.
 
This is an older version of what I have compiled for the harness. The current, organized and re-routed version of on my other computer, but this will give you and idea of what I am working with.
