What did you do to your Mopar today?

I received and installed my Inline Tube pump to carb line to replace the hacked up, leaky POS the "professional" shop left me with. This brought to light that the professionals also put in belts that were too short. So short that I had to take the alternator and PS pump off to get the belts off. So, this morning, I have to run to NAPA to pick up inch longer belts to get it all back together.
That sounds about right....pro's my ***..

About pros, last week I needed to fix a pinion seal leak on a 73 mustang, so I'm working off jack stands in my garage and cant get the nut loose so I decide to go to one of those do it yourself joints and rent a lift, mechanic says he has everything we need and hell give me a had no extra charge.
We get the nut off and he goes to put the new seal in and bent the **** out of it then says he can straiten it, I say no way dude, I put the new one in no problem.
Then I look a little closer at the pinion and it's got a decent groove in it, he says it will be fine, again I say no way dude, he tells me a new pinion will be hard to find and cost a couple of hundred bucks, I say no way dude it just needs a sleeve ( he never heard of it before) parts store had it in stock and I showed him how to pound it on.
Lastly I told him I need a torque wrench for the pinion nut and he tells me he just uses an impact until it's good and tight.
Hes been a mechanic 30 years, maybe that's why he's working in a DIY shop, can you imagine what this guy dose to peoples car everyday? Pro my ***!

Much needed door-work, and new hinges.

Removed my fuel sender and found that the float was full of gas. It's also missing the sock filter. Replaced the float with a brass one and reinstalled. It's now showing something other than empty, but at around half a tank of gas it's still reading 1/4 full. After spending a few hours bending the arm, checking the OHM readings and reinstalling (over and over) I just ordered a new one... Fingers crossed.

its now at an automotive engineer to be fitted with Australian compliance seat belts and have other mods approved and an engineering certificate issued . used to be so simple to get a left drive car registered ( until gov bureaucrats got involved :BangHead: )

Had someone make me a real teak wood handle for my shift...didn't like the plastic one, work in progress

Turned it around in the bay to facilitate using the engine hoist.

Next time it comes out should be under it's own power.

Starting to get excited.

Say, is this motor mount on correctly? Should have taken a "before" pic.

Not sure if it goes ahead of the boss or behind. Not sure which 3 of the 4 holes get bolts and how they orient.

Rear Seats.
Speaking of rear seats....my rear seat from the 67 Coronet is headed for the trash bin unless somebody wants it. FREE. In great shape but needs recovering. Let me know....Ghost

Had to address an oil leak that been buggin me.So I had to degrease the underside from the oil pan & "K" frame to the trans. It ended up being the gear drive cover idler axel cover.Remover the cover, heli coiled the 3 holes and put it back together. The other trans fluid leak is coming from the yoke off the back of the trans.Thought it was the rear seal,,but it leaks from INSIDE the yoke. There is some kind of plug in the center.Mark Williams said to clean it and silicone it,,,,,

Than I did 4 drain & fills to get the antifreeze out, going to a track rental this week and will be my 1st trip to the track since last year. Had 2 daughters get married this summer which put a hurtin on the race budget. One of them picked my Chrysler Carlisle weekend to get married. So I'm looking foward to making a few passes. Have several smaller pullies to turn the boost up, want to see how fast I can get this street heap to go before doing anything to lower inlet air temps.

Had to start it after every fill with water,it just kept getting GREEN!

got the driver side of the hood situation worked out along with the front nose section. Also moved the bumper towards the rear to catch the new section as it comes down. Got some filling and sanding to do, and more welding of course. It is nice to see how it will look though. I like it! I doodled a bit on the hood to see what different stripes would look like. The doors and fenders need to be moved forward anyway so that will give me the correct 3/16ths gap at the rear of the hood and on both sides. Once everything is fitted up correctly I'll run some mud over the gaps and slice out the nice straight gaps with a razor tool.
