Got the 68 Satty out of body shop prison today. After many "promises" and excuses, last Monday I told them I was picking up the car either Thursday ( today ) or Friday whether done or not. Tuesday and Wednesday the second coat of bedliner paint was applied to the floor, rear window was installed after cleaning the window channel and painting it and stainless trim clips installed, Front and rear window stainless trim installed ( trouble there) Drip rail trim installed, new hood adjusted and had to modify the safety latch hole, doors shimmed and adjusted, newly upholstered drivers seat installed so I could drive the car, rear bumper installed, re-install the side marker lights, seam sealer and undercoating under the car where the quarter skins were installed. I took the Sport Satellite ( GTX) chrome bezels off the tail light lenses and put the Roadrunner-Satellite bezels on, cleaned them all up, and installed new gaskets. Installed the quarter fender extensions and put the tail lights in them.
I then drove the Satty to the detailing shop where the dash, headliner, and rest of interior will be cleaned from all the Winter accumulation of body shop dirt and dust. When I pick it up tomorrow, the car will then go to another shop to have rollers-hardware and lubrication in the rear quarter windows.
Hopefully Saturday the Satty will come back home and next week, get the boom mat on the floor, new carpet and the rest of the interior, fit the six way power seat base. Then it will be new rear springs , which I have waiting, and the new Keystone Classic wheels and new tires. ... I love it when a plan comes together, and just in time for Spring weather!....................MO
