What did you do to your Mopar today?

Thought about giving my Super Bee its spring cleaning, but since the pollen is still coming down I decided to have a Jim Beam and cigar instead.

No . . . fitment . . . I'm going to try and figure out a way to make the dash removable without having to pull the windshield . . .

I've heard but not tried...

that you can put the speed nuts on upside down and run the bolts in from under the dash.

I'd love to have that verified.

Yesterday I disassembled the bucket seat tracks and cleaned the 40 year old grease off. Took them for powder coating today.

A worthwhile endeavor. Since putting the Coronet back together there's been a couple occasions where it would have been nice to pull the dash out, but there's no way I'm removing the windshield again.

The tracks cleaned up nice. Are you reupholstering the seats at the same time?
I took the tracks to the powder coating company for blasting and satin black paint. The seats were redone with Legendary by the previous owner about 5 or 6 years ago. I took them out to replace the carpet that the body shop damaged by letting water sit until it molded and caused rust issues on the exposed seat parts base, sliders, springs).

BTW, did you hear about the guy that fell into the upholstery machine?

- no worries, he recovered.

Sealed the back side of my bumpers with a couple of coats of aluminum Tremclad. Highly suggested by my restoration shop to avoid rust working it's way through and around to the front side.

FWI, I was always told the repro bumpers were thinner. My AMD front bumper is the same thickness as my OE rear one @ 0.95". Was a LOT cheaper too, considering my $1400 bill to straighten, weld cracks and rechrome the OE.

Had a great time polishing a new part with my son. He sat and listened and helped for about 2 hours as we took it from rough to almost mirror finish. Rechrome, what? There is nothing like the hunt, and then bringing a piece back to life, and the bonding experience of doing it with my son! Love it! And 2 hours past his bed time he said, “best night of my life”, that’s what this is about! And, “daddy, we can’t put I on tonight, we have to put it on tomorrow when Grandma Sue and Great Uncle Jerry are here tomorrow.” And daddy promised him some “go fast” time tomorrow! 100 today, and wants to see if we can go faster! That’s my boy!
