How many seconds(!) did that take?Cleaned the black ribbon seal goo from around the back window to prepare for installing the glass.
Are you joking? It took about 2-3 red rags, 3-4 paper towels, a plastic scraper, some 3M adhesive remover and lots of elbow grease. So, about 5400 seconds. And that's just the residue the glass guys left behind after taking out the rear window. How many seconds(!) did that take?
My rear glass is oem. I don't know if it came with the car from the factory but it's in good enough shape to go back on the car. The previous owner removed it to patch the rust and used ribbon seal when he put it back on the car. I got a good deal on glass removal/replacement so I didn't complain about having to clean up the sealing surface. I'm finally getting a new headliner so the front and rear glass is out to make it easy on the interior guy. I found another pinhole at the top of the back glass that the PO missed when he repaired it. So, I'm glad I had the glass taken out.Mine still has original rear glass, when the trim came off for first time I just shuddered!
