What did you do to your Mopar today?

Pulled the motor and transmission out of the 65.

Took the transmission from the 65 over to a buddy's shop. Torn it down. More stock-type parts in it than I would have expected.
Going to beef it up with new billet drum, new planetaries, new clutches, bolt-in sprag, etc. Maybe a tbrake for giggles.

Picked up fresh rebuild of stock A 833 Hemi four speed, with 1966 year date correct case, to replace the 1968 slick shifted trans in the car now. Something to do over the winter.

I found a worn idler arm over the winter & replaced that myself. The car was pulling to the right, but when he put it on the rack, the specs told him that it should have been pulling to the left which left him scratching his head. From what he told me, I guess he had a heck of a time aligning it, but it goes straight as an arrow now. Bringing in the other Charger in on Tuesday.

Got the green Charger aligned today. It was out only a slight bit.

Replaced wheel cylinders, drums, brake shoes and all hardware on both sides in the rear. SEVERAL cans of brake cleaner, lots of Simple Greeen, and once it was all clean a few sprays of Ospho.

Bought a stand that holds a ford 9" center section. Made tabs to mount my 8.75 to it. tomorrow hope to mount it on bench.

you wouldn't want the to get tighter every time you stopped going forward.

Yesterday was putting air cleaners on and a holddown for base needed a tweek. So I tweeked it and partly broke the weld. Today rewelded it, didn't have a welder for years because at work it would get done. Still should have bought one years ago. Cleaned Dodges windshield so I can see what I'm going to hit.
Today went out to get a little more gas. Undid the cap of ez pour gas jug spout noticed black gasket came off. Split in half and no replacement and thinking are they available. Amazing that the original non ez pour spout had same gasket. Will order some extra replacements from amazon.

Mounted stand for 8.75 yesterday. $36 for the stand from Amazon via Jegs free shipping that way. Was going to take the Dodge for a drive around the neighborhood and disturb the place. PP rain until early afternoon and wet. Today wife plans.

Did a leak down on the hemi. One cylinder little higher than the others.
Pull the heads. Looks like the rings are washed out.
Nothing else major. Bearings all look good.
Have to put the cross hatch back and re-ring it.

Put the hard to find headlight surrounds, or whatever you call them, into the B last night. Today put the 70 Charger away for the winter.

Ohhh- elongate one hole in mounting stand.. Started worrying there for a minute, lol.

Yesterday I drove the 68 Satty about 65 miles to fellow FBBO list member Dale and he took the power brake booster, master cyl, and brake pedal etc. off his parts car, so I could turn them in for cores on rebuilt ones. I am going to convert mine from non power drum to power drum. Beautiful day for a drive, and great to have a Mopar friend . You should see his collection of 68-70 B body projects.. drool- drool ! We also compared hood latches and header panels. ....................MO

Stand is for a Ford 9" so I made those aluminum pieces to adapt the 8.75. Had to elongate one hole in the aluminum adapter. Gasket doesn't have little bumps like in the housing to work around which moved the hole 1/4". Slight 1/4" elongation of one adapter tab, done.
