What did you do to your Mopar today?

Adjusted the hood hinges, put the side molding back on and drove it to the grocery.

"Only" 92 degrees and 88% humidity (between sporadic showers).
Didn't even run the AC.

Started a few projects. ..the biggest being an electric fan swap.
I was running a 2 fan system that I felt wasn't moving enough air...so I am swapping it out for a single Taurus fan.

Not to mention I need to clean up my wiring. ...that is an AWESOME controller from Autocoolguy (Google it...) ...it "soft starts" the fan instead of nailing them full blast right off the start...

Anyway, I had to trim some plastic and make some simple brackets. ..

And as I figured, I'll have to trim more plastic to move the fan closer to the radiator to clear the water pump nose....

No big deal but it's well on the way to 100 degrees so I'll get back after it later...

Put the gas tank back in Friday evening. Hot and muggy out. Loaded it with recycling Saturday morning and went for a ride, feels hotter that Friday. Running well, fuel gauge is working. I'll check the fuel filter after a couple drives and see if I got everything out of the tank.

I finally got the body in color this weekend. Well, my paint guy did. He sent me the pictures around midnight. It was all I could do to not put on my britches and drive over to see it! Tomorrow we put the panels on, and get ready for clear.

Got my bucket seat covers from Legendary Interiors yesterday. Unfortunately I didn't know that the seat backs are actually a separate piece, so I had to order those. :BangHead: I'll be waiting until the winter to do them anyway. I have to pull the bucket seats, all the door panels and the center console to take to the upholstery shop to have him switch all the old light tan carpet to Black. I also need to take the bucket seats apart so I can sand blast them, make sure no repairs are needed and paint them. I really don't want to have the car down for several weeks now that I have it on the road.

Last weekend:
Saturday: Got the passenger side door hung straight as an arrow and closes perfectly, now with door panel / arm rest and inner latch back on (for the first time in I dunno how long...).
Sunday: After wrestling with the drivers side door for a few hours, put it on the bench seat and quit for the day.

This weekend:
Saturday: Wrestled the front bumper off and was going to try and straighten out the bottom for the chin spoiler, but it's to f'ed up.
Half the bumper bolts are seized up even after using liquid wrench, cutting the bolts off even more work.
If I spend the time doing it (for however long) it may not really work out because it's that messed up.
Ordered a new bumper, brackets and bolt set from Summit.
Sunday: Gonna wrestle with the drivers door again, fingers crossed.

Procar buckets should arrive by the end of this week, :praying:

Are you keeping the Cragers? They shore look nice on 'er!

Dodged an $8,000 repair bill, or whatever it costs to rebuild a motor these days, for now, on my 440 by beating a low oil pressure situation. I've always used K&N oil filters but thought I could save a few pennies with a Wix. I mean, I use Wix on all of my other cars, but I guess the charger didn't like it...

Friday I changed the oil & filter (Driven GP-1/10-40 & WIX 51515) tightened exhaust clamps and gave a general look-see underneath.
Then I changed the fuel filter.
Then I changed the fuel line that fed it because of course I had a full tank and when I pinched it off it got nicked and started misting the side of my engine.
And I bumped up the insured value with Hagerty.

I just put a WIX on mine!
But I still have plenty of pressure...

Oh boy. Spent an hour trying to extract a bolt that fell down into my still-on-the-stand 505. A 1/4-20 went down the distributor hole, into the nether-regions.... It's all sealed up and leak tested and I was NOT going pull the oil pan and tray or timing cover..so I set about trying to fish it out through the top with the long magnet stick and grabber tool. Not enough space around the internals to manipulate the tools where they needed to go. Turning the engine upside down only made it get more lost. When it found it's way to the bottom of the pan, I tried and tried, and finally, got it with the magnet stick through the oil drain hole. Only to discover, it was a hair too big to come out the hole! I ended up getting the long flexible grabber down to the pan, through the distributor hole, where I could see the claw in there through the drain hole. I pushed the bolt over against it with a small piece of tubing, and was finally able to get it...I was sure it was gonna hang up and fall as I slowly pulled it up and out, but the claw held and I got that sumbitch. Then promptly stuffed rags into all openings and chucked that damn bolt as far as I could...

Years ago I removed the distributor from my Firebird and somehow dropped a 3/8 3" extension down the hole. I thought I dropped it between the transmission and firewall so I figured I'd find it when I started it up. I found it alright once the engine seized. Broke some parts but still use that extension...lol!

I'd never have trouble using a Wix. To me they're one of the better ones out there. I don't really know why a K&N would increase your oil pressure though.
