What did you do to your Mopar today?

Started the 4-stage polish process before Carlisle. Step 1, meguiars 110:

Next step: meguiars 210. Then, show car glaze. Then, yellow wax.

Not bad for a 50 year old Ear Scheib paint job that shined like a pool table when I got the car....

No, it's not straight. But, that's the charm. They're only original once...

Can you do mine when you are done?!?

Got the hand controls installed in the GTX today. Now I can drive it more than 15 miles at a time. Only mods required were shortening rod to the brake pedal, and custom clamp to the gas pedal linkage, part was left over from one of my friend’s street rod projects.

Push lever for brakes? Gas pedal can't see that and how it works?
Push lever toward firewall for brakes. Pivot counter clockwise for gas. Mechanism held in the bracket acts like a differential, transfers the rotation at the lever into thrust at the rod that connects at the gas. I'm amazed how well it works. Transition between pedal operation and the lever is seamless. The Monarch is tailor made for our old Mopars. Here's a shot of the gas pedal connection.

That's awesome! Keep driving it and enjoying it - that's what it was made for!

Making brake-lines, and mounting brake accessories on my 71 Duster project.

I'm thinking maybe not much more today. Yesterday was brutally hot/humid and today is supposed to be even worse. I may wimp out and get a window a/c unit for the garage.

Lashed my solid lifters. It has been over a year since I checked them. All good. The only adjustment was #2 exhaust was on the tight side. Cold lash, Exhaust .010", Intake .008".

threewood - Wow, .010 and .008 gap - man that'[s pretty tight.
Is that what the cam manufacturer suggests for lash?

Isky recommends 0.015" lash for my small block solid cam.

Getting ready for Carlisle, juiced the AC on the 71.

I drove a lady's conversion van with hand controls once.

Found out it's real easy to power brake with those :)

Changed out the leaking passenger side valve cover gasket and went for a long cruise to get everything up to operating temperature. After letting it cool I retorqued the valve cover. So far, no leak. Gratuitous pic because everyone likes pictures…
