What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Took the Charger to a show at the local Motor Vehicle office hosted by a local Chevy club and got a sponsor's choice award.

Finished re-wiring one of my trailers. There was one rear light out (right turn/brake) and the license plate light that were bothering me, so I decided to take a look to see what the problem was. I expected a relatively simple fix, maybe a couple lamps burnt out.

But no, once I started looking it became apparent that I was lucky that ANY of the lights were working. Between poor workmanship on the original wiring, missing grounds, electric brakes on one axle wired incorrectly, 15 years of corrosion in the wiring, and MICE chewing the wires bare in places, I was AMAZED it was working at all. After seeing the bare wire from the mice, plus finding corrosion in the wire 3-4 feet back upline in many places it was apparent that splicing in wire in places was NOT going to work.

So, pulled all the original wiring in the trailer out (it was run inside the steel tube frame) and pulled new, heavier gauge wire in. A couple of new connectors and everything is working like new, maybe better now. But what a PITA to repair!

Ralph’s show?
Yes. It was a 200 mile round trip for me to Enfield and back. But I brought a rack of Killians and we got a real good pizza across the street and a good time was had by all. This was the same dealership where about eight years ago we unveiled the 66 Dart convertible that we restored for Eli who was dying of terminal cancer. Ralph was one of the people who got that project started. Gary,Pam,Dave,Greg,Jeff and myself were all proud to be a part of it. The car gave Eli something to live for, and I believe that he kept on fighting for another two years that he probably wouldn't have made. The last time we saw him,he wanted to go for a ride in my friend Al's General Lee Charger and we made that happen for him too. Everytime I go there Eli is on my mind. RIP Eli.

Bent the hell out of a brand new mower blade.

First cut with new blades after fixing the engage cable.

Not sure what I hit, but it bent down.

I was just thinking to myself how smooth and even it was cutting, and then ....BAM.

Grrrrr.

Gonna brace and screw those PT 2x8s permanently and then run a groove in them to slip under my trailer ramp.

Then I can use them as service ramps as above and also to keep the deck/blades from hitting my trailer hinges when I load it.

I had access to a longer extension ladder today. I was able to put the D.C. sign I purchased, at the MATSLV 2022 show from MCG and crew, on the south end of the garage. The north was already done earlier with the oval one.

Saturday night was spent compiling spreadsheets and totals for my Accountant to do the 'End of Year' work for me.

Spent all day reading up on Mopars and
anything that could possibly go wrong or
fail, and the suggested remedies, plus
all other things posted (non Mopar
related) that kept my spirits up. Some
here have a phenomenal sense of humor.

A broken foot has placed me in this
circumstance. Thanks to all here that
have held my interest.

We also got the Daytona sunroof Charger R/T on the work lift so I can get back to work on it. It has been stored in my car trailer for the last two years!

Digging! I’m building a bedroom suite for my daughter. Currently working on the spread footings for the block, hope to have it roughed in by the time the snow flies!
