What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Nothing exciting, just cut the grass.

Can only imagine what his property taxes are up there in Maskachusetts!
Bet it is less than mine in screw york. Just paid my school tax bill today. My azz hurts. We also have a property tax. My sister in law recently built a 2000 sqft home on 9 acres in the same school district. Her school taxes alone are $16k. WTF!!!!! The wife and I are heading back down to western SC, Ga and Chattanooga area again next week to look for towns to retire in. It's unbearable here.

Anyway....Enough of my misery.....back to the thread.
Rebuilt my leaky anti - freeze outdoor wall hydrant. Winter is coming. Also had a lot of calcium built up on it from hard water. Soaked in vinegar for a few hours. Works like a champ now.

A friend of mine has released skunks from these traps. He advised me to slowly approach and cover and relocate. Let it settle down, remove cover from door and slowly open. I used vice grips to keep the door open and slowly removed the sheet. Barely got it off and the skunk took off. WHEW!

I watched my Mammalogy professor release a skunk that way.

I know I'm going to be working on my wellhouse this weekend. Had to cut a hole in the roof in order for the well guy to access and remove the pump, which sits 180 feet down. New pump, works like a champ (my old one was installed in 1988!), and now I have a tarp covering the 14"x20" hole. I'm going to install a skylight so I can see WTF I'm doing out there. I've got the skylight, so I just have to get up there and install and fix my roof, in the process. I hate getting up on ladders, though!

Insulating the wellhouse is right after that. I had to remove a bit of it for the well pump job, so I'll improve on what I had out there. Very rarely are we ever below zero*F, but i want things to be hunky-dory down to -15*F. My cat sleeps out there when the temp drops, so I need to add chicken wire over the insulation so she doesn't tear it out and make bedding from it...like last time!

Looks like you crisscross your cutting?

I go front to rear one week & left to right the next week. The diagonal crisscross patterns came from the lawn service guys a couple weeks ago when they did dethatching and over-seeding.

Oh man, I hate getting up on my roof or tall ladders these days too!! Hard to think about 'walking the rafters' on a newly framed house like I used to do.....but man, could do that with ease back then.

Did this 2 years ago-

Last week found this online just around the corner from my shop and picked it up Monday-

I've been looking for 2 years.

So far they have all been either out of state or $475 (some more).
You can get non-OEM for $250 and another $150 freight shipping.

This one was literally right around the corner and was only $130!
Plus it has the plastic piece with less broken clip mounts than mine.

Petty blue is interesting.

Oh, wait....that's technically "working" on my Mopar.

Also scored some vintage audio.

Highly regarded 1986 Philips combo amp listed at 65 WPC but tested at close to 80, and is also 4 ohm and even 2 ohm stable!
1989 JVC single CD player. I stockpile "single spin" CD players.
$5 each. Untested but had tape with "tested-works" from the thrift store.
I've never had a "separate" amp before. I do have a few separate tuners around.
Interestingly it has a "CD direct" mode that bypasses all the front panel controls and is supposed to clean up the signal path.

1985 silver face Technics tape deck.
Will present good with my 1974 silver face Pioneer 727 receiver.
$8. Also untested. Maybe when I get some free time.

Well, went over to the Mather VA this morning, to have a 2 year follow up appointment at the cardiology department, in regards to the heart surgery that i had done.
(Had a valve replacement)
Guess i checked out ok with them, so i'm a happy camper.
One more scheduled evaluation with them in July, and after that, just continue to live your life, i'm told.

Insurance ran out on my newer bike so I've been test riding my 86 1150 the last few days. I had it pulled right down and split the cases to change the transmission output shaft and install a new clutch hub so it's nice to have it up and riding with zero issues again.

That conjured up an odd mental image.

Spent the afternoon trying to read Japanese. Well, in the end I loaded an app to my phone to speed things up a little. Trying to convert the Japanese to English in my wife's car. Harder than it sounds. In fact, I doubt this model is even capable of English.
Need to repair the interior light also....waiting for the shops to open so I can buy some BJ Weld.
