What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Put the boat away in NH and blew some leaves off the yard. I'll have to blow leaves up there for the next few weekends.

Came back home & blew leaves here, then mowed the grass.

Took my daughter out for opening pheasant, only able to get one on opening weekend, only took 20 minutes, was hoping to wear her out! Then I planed more of my rough oak for my daughters barn door. Now Badger football and Beer!

Now all you need is to paint every other one white.
Wife noticed a Marketplace add for two stools and a bar for 75 Canuck bucks and they just happen to almost match the two Blue ones we bought in Tennessee coming home from Alabama in 2019. Off we went to pick them up a few towns away. The bar.. well.. it might be handy in the shop corner if I keep f'n things up! lol

You should have been able to average down one would think.

Sorry....guilty here.
Other than routine maintenance around
the house, my only interest is finishing a
27 year long project. Just about everything
I touch on this 80 year old truck puts my
47 year career as a mechanical engineer
to the test. And my fabrication skills are
honed daily. Don't know what I'd do, or how
far along I'd be if it weren't for the extra
set of hands my veteran son has to offer.
Hopefully he'll be driving this thing long
after I'm gone. I just know his head will
be filled with the memories.
Anything we do together on this truck,
the last thing I would call it is 'work'.
I get to hand down a confidence.

Friday finally got power to the shop. Used the a tugger to pull the wire to every Christy box then the tractor to pull it all the way through. As you may see also had to set up scaffolding up over every Christy box with pulley attached because I wanted a solid run of wire and not have to cut it. The run was 370’ but 4 guys and we got it the problem was my first electrician ran 2” conduit and not 3”. And because run was so long needed 4AWG wire.

I also picked up three 4 foot sections of PT 4x4 from a debris pile on the side of the road.

Looks like they were once part of a fence. No deterioration, and only 2 hinges attached to one of them.

That's like finding $20. Who doesn't need extra 4x4 stock in the garage?

BTW- I boarded my windows entirely with wood I've found or was put in my dumpster.
Picked up a piece of 5"x12" that's a little over 26" long. There was a few others that were the same size but looked pretty bad and the piece I got was new. Not sure what I'll use it for but it's always good to have large blocks around.

My oldest brothers house had an electrical fire this past Thursday night. Smelled it at the same time as the detector went off, walked downstairs and found a wall sconce on fire. We are salvaging what we can for him….

Holy cow! No one hurt I hope. House fire is #1 on the list of don't want! My dad's house caught fire years ago due to the gas furnace but he someone caught it in time to keep the damage minimal.

Yep Cranky, Fire is no joke. 10:45 at night, he was able to just walk out and dial 911 luckily. Southborough, Westborough, and Marlborough Fire departments arrived quickly. House was built in 1941. Fire investigation showed this light was added somewhere along the way and did Not have an electrical box behind it……

Hate it when someone does electrical work and knows nothing about it!!

The Phoenix weather allowed me to spend some hours in the garage with the 100’s of roadrunner parts yet to be installed. I really wanted to start on assembly again but couldn’t find the parking brake pedal…..just like that 3/4 of the parts are in marked boxes and organized.

Hope all ok!!! Hopefully rebuilt and back in their home for thanksgiving & Christmas. Prayers to them.
Firm believer in "bigger" fire extinguishers in houses, all ratings to cover electrical & stove top fires. Have training from several jobs to knock it down to get out.

Went Christmas shopping....at the Liquor store. :drinks:
