What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Just got back from a morning "Cars & Coffee" here in Ft Myers. I'm getting a Good Intro, into what being "Retired" is all about. Maybe next year will come around for me...

pulled the top end off, guy I picked it up from said the engines seized up. Hmmm, 2 dropped valves made bad things happen.

The chop top Buick (I assume it's a Buick) is just plain cool looking!

Hate to be full tilt on a bike when the motor seizes!! Most likely would put ya on yer butt mighty fast.....

We had about a foot and a half of snow in the past 24 hours, so most of my free time has been spent blowing and shoveling snow.

Finally got my garden tractor back together on Saturday. Starter went out but pulled the fan shroud off to make sure the flywheel wasn't the reason why the starter gear messed up. It was a little bit of a pain since there were some cap screws that were hard to get at plus cleaned and did a little bit of refresh paint work. Man, it gets harder and harder to get up off the floor these days and doesn't seem to matter how many tools that I gather before sitting down, there's always something else that needs be be there lol

Went to the farm and finished all the trim on the three gable ends and closed in the back porch.

Finally mowed the yard yesterday and most of the easement that's behind the place. Need to get a suspension seat for it. The one on it now feels like it's made for someone that 400 lbs and these days my back hurts after mowing. The vinyl is cracking on the old one anyways...

Finished up a clearing job. A stone wall and some banks along the road that has been overgrown for 20-25 years…. Didn’t get too many before pics but it was a mess with small trees, fallen branches, dead trees, vines and poison ivy… We don’t like working along roads, only a few A-holes flew by most slowed down…

Nice tractor, and farm !!!
Thank you!! It's fun working with my brother again. We had a restoration business after I retired just so we could go to lunch everyday. Fun with a little work. This is his bucket list farm and I'm now his partner. Now we have a truck and a ATV also. The house is almost done and I think next is a pond in the middle of this field.

If we do, we'll buy a bulldozer to build it, build a few roads on the back twenty and sell it when we're done. The rest of the field we let the guy down the road take the hay off it for keeping it clean and keeping an eye on the place when we're not there.
It has a spring fed pond and a creek with a low water bridge on the other end of the property where the hog operation is, but is not used now. When we're done playing with the place and the bucket list is done, it will be given to his grandchildren for a place to have as a next generation retreat. Sounds crazy, but it's what we do! You can't take it with you.

Plowed icecream snow and had to work on the treefii with #1 Son. Ants killed another radio, in the middle of the Winter. Some where warm and hummin for the little buggers to live.

Finally got the breakers in for my wife's retirement getaway re-hab, and swapped out the panels. This FL heat is not what I'm used to, but getting acclimated to it. It's been about 84* in here every afternoon, so looking forward to try out the A/C !!!
