What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

I went out and looked at a couple of used SUVs to replace my wife's aging Buick Enclave. It has 189k on it, and it's getting perilously close to the mega-dollar timing chain replacement, which is a $4K engine-out job for that. Just not gonna do that. Went to look at a Nissan Xterra originally that had just been sold :(, and another that looked like a snake and a mongoose went 15 rounds in the front seat and dash. He did have a nice 2010 Nissan Murano with the 3.5L Six that is the same as the engine in the 350Z. Triple black w/leather. Not AWD, but that's OK. Drove that. Pretty impressive. Similar in size to the Buick. I want to take it to my mechanic for a solid look-over this afternoon. We'll see. Lots of cars and trucks for sale out there, it seems.

Just got back home from dropping off six sheets of plywood ready for a Christmas job. I need to line a 10-foot (16 washing machines) container so I can hang the electrical switchgear inside. Pitch black by the time I got home.

I have been told that we start dismantling the existing tired plant at the end of January. At long last.

I invested in a Hilti orbital sander for my Q.C. guy Joel a lot of $$ but if you do it for a living well worth it. works a lot better than the other spinner sanders. it has a Hepa filter with a thumper inside to clear the filter. check out Joel sanding with no mask. He can literally sand all day without getting dusty at all. we do have to go back and hand sponge the angles. which is a little dusty wearing a mask, we emptied the container on the vacuum 3 times for this project

Great looking machine, and I like the no-dust feature. I bought one that looks very much like yours, but more of a Harbor-Fraught type product. I guess for the amount I do it is probably the best fit for me.

Submit and I drive to NH and cleaned up the mess, as best as we could, that 6” of rain in less than 24 hours created.

Does it take a "standard" battery?

How long on a charge?

How long to charge?

Standard charging cable?

30 miles using only electric. 90 miles with pedal assist (speed 20-28 mph)
8-10 hours for a full charge
Li-ion battery Charger. Battery can be charged On or Off the bike.

More importantly, how many charges can you get out of it before it self ignites?
Time will tell, but problems like that are normally caused by "NOT" following proper recommendations & procedures for Li-ion batteries.

Example:
Avoid Deep Charging, try not to let the battery get below 30%. Short charges, and insufficient charges do not effect battery life.
Don't charge the bike outside in the blazing Arizona heat and sun... no brainer!
Never charge the battery in a place where temps are below freezing either. Room temperature is always best.
Batteries should be discharged to 60%-80% for long term storage, and topped off every couple month to maintain a longer lifecycle.

In any case, it is always best to check it out occasionally during operation, or when charging. You'll know if it's starting to go south.

Replacement batteries are not cheap either, so I'm hoping for the best.
A lot of folks around here have them.

Submit and went on an electric bike tour in Bermuda last spring and I was thinking about getting a pair for ourselves until I saw the price of them.

Ayuh... anywhere from a few hundred to several thousand $$$... at which point you might as well just go by an actual motorcycle.

Of course, regular Touring Bikes, Trail Bikes and Mountain Bikes aren't cheap either, falling into the same price range more or less.
Given a choice however, I'll take the one with the motor when I'm looking at that steep hill coming up ahead.... and we're not Flatlander's here.

I was fortunate, AKA: wise enough, to wait for a Christmas deal on pricing. Buying two reduced the price even further.... and then there is always that old, well known, familiar saying...
Happy Wife = Happy Life

Put the flagpole back up that blew down in the heavy winds and rain on Monday. It’s now five feet shorter. Got to get a new solar powered light as that was destroyed when it came down.

Had a horrible day!
Wisconsin releases extra birds for the holidays.
Dutch and I showed up early today and she immediately ran twords the woods and chased a deer for at least 10 minutes. Wouldn't respond to tone, vibes or stim until I hit 9. After a couple hours we went back to the vehicle to get water because I forgot it. While at the vehicle I heard a flush, a shot and we were being rained on by pellets. After being hit and pellets going in the woods, Dutch bolted again into the woods. I had a few choice words for the guy that was 75 yards or so away, after I got Dutch back, he holds up a bird and walks away. Then I step in dog crap that someones dog left next to my Jeep. 5 hours and didn't find anything but feathers.
Glad there's Jim Beam, cause my legs are killing me and I'm still mad about being rained on.
