What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Picked up some more sticks of framing timber ....ready to build that wall over the weekend. Demolition is going steadily. Also collected some more plastic storage bins to stow things out of the way until the work is done. I must have cornered the market on those damn boxes.

Bought a SIG 365 and 400rds of 9mm. Took em home 5 minutes after they took my cash.
They didn't even ask for my name at the front cashier for the ammo.
We're not in california anymore, Toto.

you know how us mexicans are  . got a black urinal for free thats not installed yet, $ 209 for toliet and 179 for for laundry tub included drain and faucet kit, actually for what the building is I saved alot on about everything, but still a staggering number. chit ain't cheap anymore.

Took my van out to see my buddy Cliff and swap out the A/C compressor......except the supplier sent the wrong one. Seems I have a crossover or unusual model installed. They sent a multi-groove version where mine is a V-belt, and when the supposed correct V-belt unit was sent out urgently an hour later, the pulley was offset at least a full belt width.

So we cleaned everything up, changed the filter unit, and I took it off to the A/C shop for re-charging. Works great now. For the last few weeks in this heat it's been like driving in a tropical swamp. Just blowing warm air around....not nice in high humidity. Now it's back to nice cool air again.

Ticked over 300,000kms on the trip out to Cliff's shop.
:xscuseless:

Even with the new compressor, I would still have to swap over the old manifold plate on top to suit my hoses. But that is normal apparently.

My wife has a black car.....I tried talking her out of it.
I vowed to never buy another black car. I only have two left (six or seven, over the years, three at one time, a nightmare!). I'm amazed how many I see here in Arizona, where I have seen and recorded 123° f, and weeks on end of 100°f plus.

It takes longer to cool down a black car than a white one.

I sat in a doctor's office for an hour, bored
taken my dad to get his catheter changed, monthly deal
dad's medicare covers it

then I went shopping,
today must be a shopping day, seems everyone was there

I got like 12) 1/2 full bags of groceries,
nice rack spare ribs, 3# hamburger, family pack of 4 steaks, chicken qtrs 6pack
some frozen veggies (5 packs), some fresh produce/fruits asparagus apples cuties
onions celery peppers, dad's french bread, my bagels, pizza crust, box of cornmeal
some stuff to drink, like fruit juices, cranberry & grape juice for me
& my dad loves Splash V8s 4 bottles etc., a couple of small spices,
(all normal stuff we usually get, had enough of) a couple birthday greeting cars
no sugar/s (baking), no Agave (for dad) no beer & no booze ever now,
no coffee, no tea makings

How long will all that last before you have to go shopping again?

How long will all that last before you have to go shopping again?
some stuff maybe a week like milk
& we have no 'big box stores' up here
some stuff 2 weeks, like breads or tortillas
the fresh fruit, the fresh veggies every week
stuff like potatoes if we keep in the fridge 1 time every 3 weeks maybe
dry goods like flour, cornmeal, corn starch etc. last a month or more sometimes
teas (dad goes thru 2 huge box of 100 ct., ever 3 weeks or so)
or me a bag of coffee beans like, 1 time a month or longer

Dad's Splash-V8s every weeks, why he only wants to get 2-3 at a time I don't know
his cuties oranges he goes through like crazy, every week

My dad goes shopping a lot,
it's like it's a hobby, or to just get out of the house, bored (?)
gets him up out of the chair, to walk-be mobile so I don't complain too much

I'd say we go shopping for a majority of it every 3 weeks
canned & dry goods or meats, that can go in the freezer
or stuff like cereal on a shelf in the cabinets
except for stuff listed, above...

Gas ain't cheap going up & down the mountain either @ $4 a gal.

We do eat well, but it's crazy how much we spend on food now
a min. of 100% more (2 times as much) NOW than we did,
back prior to Jan 2021
what we used to spend maybe $600 -$700 monthly for us 2 & the dog
same stuff, same stores
seems like smaller quantity/packages for the same price now too
shrinkflation
some months (like every 2-ish months) when I need 50#s dog food
(last about 70 days) & big box of Milkbone treats, or Puperonis,
dog food has almost doubled too, for all that it's like $150+ ever 2 or so months

Grocery's it's near or over double the $600+ number for the 2 of US now
well over a $1,100-$1,200 average monthly now

Gutting the flower gardens. Have to do it every 5-6 years as weeds take over fast here in the heat. Mila was helping.

Not my Mopar....but my wife's daily driver. About to embark upon a stereo upgrade - the OE Japanese radio can only get one radio station here in NZ....a band expander gains an extra 5 stations.....but with poor quality of signal. Besides, she wants a CD player (which the car has) also BT for the phone and USB for phone charging or plugging in the tunes on a memory stick. A remote is always handy too.
Waited about 5 weeks for the new faceplate to arrive from Chin-Wah ..... and downloaded a YT clip from UK.....so BBL.

(that's not me BTW)

Same thing with food here it’s crazy. I heard if you talk to different people your food will cheaper cause they say stuff is way better now…
