What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

We went to the Crossroads Blues Festival in Lima, NY. This little town of 2100 puts on a four day, four stage blues festival with some truly awesome music. Couple that with a perfect summer day and life doesn’t get any better. When’s the last time you were in a bar with a cooler and a till that look like these?

It's about 8 minutes from home.
My wife was there selling handmade jewelry.

More progress on the boat rebuild.
Still need to straighten out the front seat bracing/storage bin.
But most of it is finished.
Got promptly wet from that b!^*$ Debbie.

Over on the A bodies site, i'm rebuilding a pair of Kelsey Hayes, 4 piston, disc brake calipers, for a customer of mine, that are used on the 65-72 A body cars.

They dis assembled nicely, cleaned up great, detailed them, took them out of the Evaporust solution this morning, and painted them up.

Now waiting on the rebuild kits, some new pistons, caliper hard lines, to show up, for the re assembly.

Old man here, still keeping busy.

We finally took Fred out to a local Cruise In tonight; it hasn't been an easy year for such so far.
I gotta admit, he was looking sharp this evening. Many folks stopped by to visit and were very nice
and complimentary:

I'll also admit - I needed to be out there, too.

Mowed part of my ditch and then decided it was way too hot and humid. Looked over my shoulder and saw a good sized black turtle/tortoise in the middle of the hot asphalt road and not moving much. He didn't really want to be handled, but I eventually moved him to the grass in my ditch. That guy could rotate himself around 180 degrees pretty fast! Anyway, he scampered off into my woods to do whatever turtles do on dog day afternoons.

"He" looked like a bog turtle, but I didn't see any yellow markings on his neck

You did good! While I don't do turtles and snakes, anything suffering bothers me. I really don't do bullies well either. LOL

That's quite a catch David has there. What about you Don?
A 3" and a 4" perch.
But it was exciting it broke the stringer and we netted it again out in open water .
What an adventure.
Probably most here wouldn't know David is about 6'-2" tall.
It was a good size pike

... worked on the bike.
It's been off the road for the last 5-6 years.

One of the culprits:
Gummed up solid with ethanol residue.
Prob need a hot ultrasonic bath, cold carb cleaner soak barely made a dent.

Next .... it sounded like Jones Beach when shaken after being drained.
Cleaning out well then rust inhibiting treatment (?) before reassembly.

New: fuel valve and filter, vacuum lines, fuel lines, cv40 carb, battery.

Now all I have to do is put it back together (and get in the wind!).

Sat in school bus meeting most of the day, mind numbing and learning how we can't do anything with misbehaving students

Almost done with demo on the apartment that a tenant trashed.

Little more drywall to go, then I start moving walls around for a better floor plan.

Just another relaxing day at the lake. Glad the Wife had a bunch of those wrapped carb cleaning wires in the kitchen drawer.
