What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Couple small projects today.... My drawer of air tools has been crowded for awhile now & I need more room for machinist type stuff.... So I took some angle iron & drilled a dozen holes in it... Added three short pieces of square tubing to space it away from the wall & now I have a new air tool storage rack...

And I have a job coming up thats gonna need soft jaws for my lathe... So if I'm making jaws I figured I might as well make extras.... There are actually five sets, one set was already bolted to the lathe just to test fit... And they fit perfect...

Cool, you even got enough room not to poke people on the couch in the back of the head while playing pool.

Fixed my BIL's water heater.

He was ready to spend $200 on a new one and another $200 to have it installed.

$20 lower element and 20 minutes.

I haven't seen a $200 water heater in thirty years... Around here they start at $800 & go up rapidly from there...

Yikes.

I actually bought one about 5 years ago because my mom's was leaking. Pretty sure it was about $200 (but it was 5 years ago)

Hauled it all the way to her house, and then discovered the bottom element had a pin hole burned through the plastic right in the center of the electrode screw terminals. Never seen that before, but was happy to drag the new one back for a refund.

Went to the post office this morning...rode my bike and worked out on the weight machine for a bit. Thinking about vegging for the rest of the day. Been pulling stuff from the shelves that I know will never be used and sticking them on the net for sale now that my rear end table is finally freed up. It's 33"x 58" and works well to box stuff up on plus it has wheels.

Good luck on the clearance sale, buddy.

I butchered up a hunk of beast. I even put some Bull **** from The Big Cock Ranch on a couple of pieces before vacuum sealing them.

Damn near made a new "line" on the nose of the Bird today getting a 12' sheet of 0.032 out onto the table and then managed to get my brake within 4' of the table, without hitting anything, to bend up a wall protector before we start storing firewood again in the basement. Also cut some 2mm lexan for a floor cover to go under the firewood and then back onto the pinball machine for an hour or so. Hopefully it's not pouring rain tomorrow, like it was today, so I can get the firewood protectors into the house.

Yup, all the different ones. You could get them in a plain brown bag called Bag of ****. Too funny

Attempted to install a laminate floor in our entry hall.
Failed.
Flooring was made in 2006 and has been stored at my shop.
Some sections just did not lock and close the gap.
Accepted defeat and ordered a few hundred dollars worth of "grip strip" rubber flooring that looks like wood.
Thought sure we could get out of this project for under $50. NOPE.
We used that in our bathroom about 10 years ago and it's wonderful.
They stopped making it and are just now starting to make it again, so selection is limited.
Looking for non-real wood flooring was eye opening.
90% of the colors are either gray, or whitewashed.
Our color pallete is based on "Tiki Hut" carpet, which is challenging anyway.
Hopefully the distressed Pacific pine we orered will work.
Not being able to see in person or take a sample home SUCKS.
Thanks, online only society!

Dang, my calf muscles and ankles are killing me this morning.
