What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Funny, I had to fix our 41 year old GE toaster this morning as well !

As for the floor, the biggest pain is to remember on EVERY plank to check for mfg defects and debris in the lock strips BEFORE you click one down! This ain't my first rodeo... but I sure hope that it's the last....

BTW... I only paid 25 Canuck Bucks for that billiard light !!! :D:D
That is an awesome light for the table!!

Thanks Brett ! Wife's cleaning it up today and I see why they took it down from the tavern ceiling, looks like it smoked a bit.. no biggy, just needs a few minutes of rewiring and 2 broken white panes to replace in the "skirt". Good thing the Wife took a stained glass class.. LOL

We're getting ready to do the entry foyer, and eventually the DR and kit.

My wife is the former professional floor layer. I just cut to length, and make tongues or grooves when required.

Down to the last strips along the wall. Looks like I'm going to have 3 boxes (45sq ft) out of 84 left over when done. Not bad, the mfg says to allow for 10% scrap and I only allowed for 4%. I actually only have about 2.5 boards worth of scrap by length out of 504 boards = 0.5% ! Time to hang my billiard light and get the table off rollers.

Have been following your progress on this project. Looks absolutely great and your craftsmanship is just OUTSTANDING.

Stripped down the little Servo Motor that I was working on this morning. Bad connection on one wire, chaffed insulation on another from a previous 'technician' and dirty brushes/commutator. Cleaned it all up and taking to site shortly to see if it runs.

Floor is done, used 80 out of the 84 boxes that we bought. Was adamant, when I needed 2 more boards, that I wasn't opening another box of floor planks to get them. Used my cut offs to "make" two boards deep in the closet and called it a wrap. The only real scrap, that can be used as starter boards is 7 planks cut lengthwise x about 7" wide, the other little pile of cut offs is my TOTAL scrap from 1200 sq ft of board! On to hanging my billiard light, getting my table in place and then it's a couple door installs and paint, if the Wife would pick a colour. I just want to go hug my cars..... been down here for 3+ friggin months... :(

At least I got to see my cars today, while working on the billiard light. Can't find a similar glass in town so going with some white UHMW I have kicking around for now. And it's been 2 weeks since an improperly social distanced funeral, so we got to play with the Granddaughter as well...

I see your priorities are in order.

Finished the Moser fab 8 3/4 3 weeks ago then machined a Weld wheel that was running out a bit and have been trying to straighten up and clean the shop.....and clean the milling machine again. Trimmed some hedges that are behind the house yesterday and raked the droppings out into the yard so I can mulch it up with the garden tractor. Took awhile to get that thing to fire up yesterday from sitting for nearly a month but at least it'll start up easy in the next day or two when I can mow I hope. Was going to do it today but got busy running errands and a buddy called asking if I wanted to go to the track with him for some testing with his turbo Dakota. Sure! Need to fire up my aging yard equipment more often to keep the old bones limber I guess....

Clean up in isle #1... table legs shimmed for level and we're on to some door installations and the stair railing to put back in place.

Looks great Wayne, but I have to ask why you didn’t paint the walls before putting up the ceiling and laying down the floor?

My usual routine, but I wasn't slowing down while I waited for #1 Wife to pick what colour she wants... still waiting for that and gonna f'n hate it having to be careful whipping the roller around!

Doors installed and stair railing back in place this weekend and today.

Pruned the plants in the front beds and scalped the front yard. Preemergent is next on the agenda.
