In the words of Meatloaf, Two out of Three ain't bad ! One more ceiling section to go with lights and tiles... then I can start the floor! :BangHead:

Well, clean up tomorrow and then I can start the floor. I'll get to that right after we bury my estranged Step Father on Friday, that died on Monday morning. 300 miles East I go...

Also got my Billiards light tonight, fresh off the ceiling of The Monarch Tavern... just off of Little Italy in Toronto. I'm sure there's a few here that have tipped a few in there. I haven't been there in about 40 years myself.

You gonna put in bowling lanes?

Looks long enough.

Hoping my calculations as to starting strip width + wall gap are correct...

Really praying my starting strip width was correct, now that the door is locked in..

I was going to say "Don't do it" ...too late. I feel your pain...I laid my first floor a year or so back. Not as difficult as it first appears, but being careful and precise counts for a lot.

Wife tells me a couple of nights back that I was getting the last toasted sandwich out of our Sunbeam sandwich press.

No way.....I pulled it to bits, and found what I needed.....a few hours later it was going again. Cables broke from fatigue in the hinge wireway after 20 years. Lucky it was an older one....new ones are nearly impossible to open or repair.
:xscuseless:

Funny, I had to fix our 41 year old GE toaster this morning as well !

As for the floor, the biggest pain is to remember on EVERY plank to check for mfg defects and debris in the lock strips BEFORE you click one down! This ain't my first rodeo... but I sure hope that it's the last....

BTW... I only paid 25 Canuck Bucks for that billiard light !!! :D:D

That was an absolute steal. Congrats.
If only the Tavern owner had had some Mopar parts to sell !! I actually thought it was a listing error. It was 50 bucks and hadn't sold in 6 weeks, so he reduced it to 20. I like everyone else automatically figured it was a posting error and that he actually wanted 500 originally and reduced to 200.. missing a zero... but nope he just wanted it gone.

Worked on a C4 rebuild, finish it up Saturday and have a pile of FWD 3 speeds to do next and then 8 transmissions in my work van.

It’s what I do for fun.

Back and knees feeling like a Hooker's on the corner of Church and Gerrard in TO, but got 9 more boxes down today and the billiard table rolled up onto the floor without damaging the starter edge of the new floor.

Started working on my neighbor's car:

Yes, you see it correctly. It is a Chevy, but it is a 1964 Impala SS. A pretty cool car, white with a red interior; 327 with a Powerglide. We are swapping his Powerglide out for an overdrive transmission. Seems I am stuck on transmissions lately...
I guess after this I will shift into some other work!:rofl::rofl:

(Even I am rolling my eyes at that bad joke, but hey: It's the best I got!)
