my compressor blew a line off a few months ago and ran for 12 hours, smoked the pump. replaced it and the 30 amp breaker would pop after a while of use. Talked to an electrician and we came to the conclusion that the breaker was probably overheated and became week. Well had to use the compressor for a few hours so i had a 50 amp so threw it in. next day bought a new 30 amp and installed it, ran it up to about 110lbs of pressure and the new breaker blew. Son came over and hooked up a meter and the thing was drawing 42 amps. Assumed motor might be bad, called a electrical motor rebuilder and he said to check the capacitors. pulled off the cover and found this, thank god it was in an enclosed metal box. Brand new shop would have been burnt to the ground. last pic is what its supposed to look like. :praying: counting my blessings as I speak.

Still sorting out scrap etc. My shop is getting trashy but at least the 'other' house is getting cleaned up. Can't beat the weather though....it's absolutely beautiful! Finding lots of stuff in the stuff that's been brought over here that was 'thrown away' by her son in the name of getting rid of the mess. It goes from trinkets to welding supplies! Even found some ammo that's never been opened and a few gun parts not to mention tools.

Went to the LIONS game with the wife, daughter, her boyfriend, and our nephew. GREAT game!!!

Went down to the Stockton, California Pick-N-Pull, wrecking yard to get parts off a 1971 Dodge Dart that they put out in one of their Chrysler Corp. row of cars, Friday morning.
Fortunately for me it was a factory Kelsey Hayes disc brake car, so naturally i got all those parts and pieces, along with the lower control arms that i always go after.
Two other Mopar nuts were there too, taking the hood, fenders, grill, trim, off of it.
Three days out in the yard, and now heavily picked over.
Was a very nice car to begin with for all you rust bucket state people, that don't see un rusted cars.
A well equipped slant 6 car.
The other guys knew me from the A and B bodies sites as hemi71x, my user ID.

Built my friend a wood shed for her fire pit wood. I built it at my place, disassembled it and took it to her place. Most of the 2x4s I found for free. A friend gave me the metal for the roof.

Another day in the life at Grumpy's Garage. Call last night from #2 Daughter on her way home and heading to get the GD's at their respective daycares. Dash lit up saying shut car off immediately, glad she didn't and called me. Told her to turn around and get it home and we'd get the girls. Gave her my truck and drove her car here on a booster pack. Alternator belt gone, thankfully it has a separate water pump belt. 3 establishments this morning to acquire both belts. Whotf came up with a "stretch belt"?. What fun getting the new water pump belt on was while turning the crankshaft.

Man it has been busy around here (looking at several vehicles for the next next project). Did manage to free up some time to assemble the rotisserie; hopefully, the lift will be next.

More busy work. Started framing a pantry (in the mud room) at the better half's request.

I went for a ride with a friend of mine who was searching for military Power Wagon parts. I was not expecting to find these.
I made a promise to the owner not to disclose VIN# s or location other than it was within an hour of NE PA.
Both are real and #s matching, and 4spds.
THEY ARE NOT FOR SALE!

But also of interest were 3 2nd gen Chargers in various stages of restoration- all # matching and all 383's.
You just never know what you're going to run across. He does have lots of B body parts he would be selling, but will take a 2nd or 3rd trip to take it all in. There are also another b body that could possibly be available.
Follow up required......

Another numbers matching 70 Hemi Charger. Would love to touch base with him but i understand why he wouldnt want anyone to know him or the location. Can’t blame him.So these are 2 of 56 Hemi 4 Speeds

Both Hemi cars are drivers, the Charger was driven last week. The 68 RR a couple of weeks before. He is fully aware of what they are and how valuable they are. He's not into show poodles, and the Charger was at Carlisle the last 5 years or so. Very nice guy, and not overly concerned with what their monetary value is (he does know), he just likes to drive them. He is aware of FBBO, has looked occasionally, but not a member. I've invited him to stop by our tent and say hi next year.

I drive mine as much as my schedule allows. I was with my dad when he bought this car in 1971 and don’t care what it is worth. Every time i see it in my garage or when i drive it I think of him.I only do local shows that benefit FD, PD or military. Never been to Carlisle and have no intentions of ever taking it there.

My wife was out of town for a few of days, so I took a ride to the local sawmill and picked up some lumber for a long overdue project.
I fired up the shop and made a Mantel for the Fireplace. It's a little over 9 feet wide and 12" deep. It took longer to mill all the trim than it did to build the mantel itself. I used 5 different profiles so it was a bit time consuming. I managed to get it all done before she got back though. It's was a nice surprise for her when she walked in door and saw it.
I antiqued the wood and the finish a bit for an older, more rustic appeal. I wanted it to look more like it had always been there.
