What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

actually, my dream shop, just trying to create some cool stuff before my demise.

not planning on soon, but it is inevitable, none of us are getting out of this alive, so just making the best of it while I'm still here.

Not working on MY car, but I am working on my oldest son's Escape. BTW, Escape is commonly said to mean, "Engineering Slowly Comes After People Explode" and yes, I just made that up. Anyway, their transmissions are
known POS that fail on a regular basis. This one was purchased with a blown trans, so it is following it's family tradition. It will be rebuilt; better, stronger, and faster than before. If you know that intro line, you watched a lot of
TV in the mid 70's. Before I can do that, I have to get the damn thing out. Just because you can see the bolt, does not mean you can get it out. There are three upper bell housing bolts. Took half an hour to get this one out, and why would you put the longest bolt in the most difficult position to work on. I had to grind down a socket and a wrench to get this outstanding bolt out. Thank you FORD!!! Can't wait to put it back in. :(

Gotta love Fords

Is it the picture, or is the long bolt twisted/crooked?

It is out! There were only two bolts that were a real PITA, rest of the job was pretty straight forward but I would not recommend it as a hobby. Now back to posting better stuff!

Installed a Slinky on our pole style bird feeder. We had a squirrel problem. They would simply climb the pole and eat everything! Tried spraying the pole with Pam, WD-40, and a bunch of other very slippery stuff. Too cold around here and they all got stiff enough that the tree rats could still climb up. But, they flat out hate the Slinky. They jump up, grab on, and then get a free ride back to the ground. The trick is to keep the bottom of the slinky 2 or more feet off the ground so they can't jump to the already stretched out section.

Cleared our 2 driveways again, 3rd time in about 2 weeks, getting close to about 3 feet. The real pita is that the driveways are not frozen enough, so the bottom few inches slush up, and snowblowers just don't work easy on it. About 2 hours on each, and windy today too. Glad it's just about beer:30...

Bad weather here today 30 and windy.. Had to let the fire go out since we had an appointment to get our chimney cleaned and the one fan looked at that was vibrating like hell. Cleaned the fans and the chimney liner. All good now 75 in here while it’s 27 out and falling to 21 tonight…

...I need to get my chimney relined, or have a wood insert installed. 4 acres, tons of free heat out back....

Went to the Folsom, California motor vehicle department office, to renew my drivers license, for the next 5 years.
Went real smooth.
Did a lot of it online, that you can do, before going in, in person.
But it's now $45.00 bucks to renew. OUCH.
Wonder if i'm gonna be around to renew again, in 2030? I'm 71.
I am past your 5 year mark and plan for more.
