What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

This past weekend we had a cottage rented near Huntsville, ON. At nearby Arrowhead Probincial Park there is a 3/4 mile skate trail that is lit by tiki torches. The 3/4 moon created shadows on the ice from the tree branches. It was very, very cool.

Squirrels got under the hood of my son’s Explorer and feasted on the wiring harness. I had to section in a handful of wires and re-wrap the harness. Any idea what can be done to prevent this from happening again? I wrapped the repaired area with foil faced tape, much like dynamat. I’m thinking pepper spray on the harness, but if anyone has other suggestions I’d love to hear them…

Dryer sheets around the engine bay. Bounce works best, but any will do - and they smell better than mothballs. Just don't put them anywhere so hot, they could flash-burn. Pack around the inner fenders, under harnesses, around the battery, along the firewall. Old RV trick to keep critters away....

There has been an over population, infestation, of squirrels in the neighborhood that i live in.
There isn't any predators for those little critters, and they breed like heck.
Got really pissed off with them, so i went and purchased a squirrel trap off Amazon to get rid of them.
Trapped 8 of them, the past 10 days or so, and haven't seen any more in the trees, back yard, fences, so i think i got rid of the herd.
Been relocating them about 3 miles away, down by the American River, that goes thru my city.
They now have a new home, without killing them.
Get yourself a trap, and i use wall nuts as bait.
Seemed to have worked well, in my case.
