What to heat the garage with????

Think I just totally shifted gears on heating, think I'm going to invest in a Central Boiler. Trying to figure out where to put a wood furnace (for weekends), how to heat the main area, supply safe heat to the paint area and the cost associated has made it clear that a boiler is the ticket. I will heat our home, heat the hot water in the winter, heat the garage (all 3 areas if I want) plus have tons of flexibility for adding wherever I want down the road. I've been kicking it around for years but it just never added up for me but now with a house and garage to heat I'm seeing the math work out to my benefit. We'll see how this goes but at the moment it's a Central Boiler Edge 550.

The big benefit is I can now heat the paint booth with radiant heat so no moving air other than exhaust.

Devin...Get me accurate dimensions of what the paint room addition is and I can sketch up a pex layout for in the floor if you go that route...
FWIW I think your on the right track...With only tending to one furnace you will benefit in all areas...

The beauty of this route is the wife will never see the additional heating cost haha.... which is just wood anyways.

Layout is simple 24X24 on the external walls so inside will be 23X23.

He can still get me the classic model here in Ohio but the efficiency difference makes me want the new model (about $1,000 difference). My brother and father in law both have the old style and love them.

Keep in mind the amount of wood you would need to be able to put into the stove if you have to be away from it for a couple of days. Even over night can sometimes be a problem..............................MO

According to my brother in law he can make his burn all day on a load and his is the old style. Firebox is 18"X18"X34".

Also my parents are across the road and my brother is just on top of the hill if I need help while away.

Just checked, according to them 300+ft in one direction is no sweat if using the good insulated pipe that I'll be using so 150ft in both directions is of no concern.

Stopped after work to look at one, they're heating 3 buildings (12,000 sqft) with 1 unit and only load it once every 24 hours!!!! That's insane.

Size the water lines at 300 ft and calculate the flow you need with out putting over sized pumps on
double check flow and head for requirements most likely need about 1 1/2 inch tube or pipe
That means lots of propylene glycol
